The world knows Steve Jobs for his creation of the gadgets that have become an everyday necessity in our lives like the iPod, the iPhone, and the iPad. But thanks to the new biography on the Apple mastermind by Walter Isaacson, we've learned that Jobs would have also made a badass hotel critic.

HotelChatter HQ has just finished the book, which pounds home how hard Steve jobs is on design. In fact, he would immediately classify design examples as "the greatest" or "shit". More often than not, he was right in these knee-jerk assessments.

And yes, his extreme design assessments extended to things outside the computer world--like hotels. Here's a very telling bit in the book about a hotel stay Jobs had in London (please flip to page 462 if you've got your books open.)

What’s in a name? Precisely $16,260 if that name happens to be the Royal Lancaster Hotel – soon to renamed the Lancaster London.

The hotel, on the edge of Hyde Park, is celebrating its name change next Wednesday (that’d be 09/09/09) by giving away £9,999 (that’s where the random $16,260 comes in) worth of prizes at – guess when - 9.09am.

And although none of the prizes are worth that amount by themselves, they ain’t half bad – there are 81 prizes – nine lots of nine, from overnight stays and dinners to afternoon teas and cocktails.

We all know that when traveling to London on a budget, you may have to sacrifice some of your favorite hotel comforts in order to afford a stay in this increasingly-expensive city.

But the Pavilion Hotel could possibly satisfy your wallet and your celebrity supermodel fetish.

The hotel was created by former model Danny Karne (who drives a Lamborgini) and his sister, Noshi who wanted to liven up the hotel experience. So they opened a 30-room hotel with all different themes. Consider it the UK Sister to the Madonna Inn.
