It's that time of the year again! The big four international Fashion Weeks are celebrating the fall/winter 2009 collections, and for each city in the main mix--Paris, New York, London, Milan--gets an influx of scene-happy fashionistas on expense accounts. As always, this is big business for the luxe hotels and restaurants of each city, and the hotels themselves usually end up as destinations for some of the runway shows.

With London's 25th anniversary Fashion Week following New York in late February, all eyes are turning to The May Fair, which has just been awarded the title of official Fashion Week hotel for the next three years (or six fashion seasons). Nevermind that the negotiations for all the fashion weeks were held here back in September, as this regal property and its rooms starting from $315 draw a crowd no matter the season.

During the key days this February, however, expect the grand lobby to filled with echoes of stilettos as the hotel turns its Amba restaurant into "The Hub," offering "a drop-in center for movers and shakers to host private impromptu meetings and rejuvenate themselves with refreshments and a bite to eat." If fashion isn't your forte, however, the May Fair is at least worth checking out if only for the unbeatable eye candy during Fashion Week.

Amongst all the other news from these past few weeks, did you happen to catch that a literal Fashion Emergency was issued for London's Fashion Week? Well, London's struggle to keep its brief time in the style spotlight came to a favorable end a few days ago when representatives from the four fashion capitals - New York, London, Paris and Milan - held a summit at The May Fair Hotel in London.

Safely ensconced in the glossy 5-star May Fair, an official host hotel of London Fashion Week, the powers that control the agenda of every fashionista discussed conflicting 2009 schedules. Happily, London hoteliers need not stress as the decision was made to only cut London's Fashion Week by one day so that New York designers can party through Labor Day.
