Hotels are getting in a holiday mood! Usually around this time, we spotlight all the delicious holiday cocktails that hotels concoct for the season. Don't worry, we're not giving up the booze but we are keeping tabs on all the wonderful, wild, and in some cases, weird Holiday Hotel Decorations that hotels put up this year. Seen some great holiday decor in a hotel recently? Send us a snapshot!

While we were gorging on stuffing on Thanksgiving day, designers were hard at work at The Claridge's Hotel in London, putting up the Dior Christmas Tree from fashion designer John Galliano. But this isn't any old pine tree spruced up with designer ornaments.

Rather, this Christmas tree is made of sparkling silver leaves, pink coral, sea horses, starfish and even jelly fish. This is certainly not the holiday decoration you'd expect in London over Christmas but we're liking how Claridge's dares to be different. More close-ups of the "ornaments are below." But tell us--What do you think of the Claridge's Christmas Tree--wonderful, wild or weird? Let us know in comments below!

Once again, Dior's head fashion designer John Galliano is returning to The Claridge's Hotel in London for the holidays with his limited-edition Dior Christmas Tree. Last year, the tree's theme was "Frozen" but this year, he's taking guests "Under the Sea." This fanciful Christmas tree will be made of "sparking silver leaves, pink coral, sea horses, starfish, anemones and more."

We just hope it doesn't smell too much like being "Under the Sea." Maybe they can sprinkle some pines around the tree just in case.

We Went Inside the Diane Von Furstenberg Suite at Claridge's (And Didn't Want to Come Out)

You probably recall how utterly obsessed we were with the Diane von Furstenberg Suite at Claridge's. If we had been living in London back in June, we would have camped out on Brook Street begging for a peek inside.

So when we had the chance earlier this month to do tea with our friend Katy Perry at the hotel, we couldn't resist asking for a little tour. And now that we've seen this suite in person, we're adding it to the top of our personal hotel bucket list--Suites to Die In. Like, literally, suites where we would like to take our last breaths. (More on that coming soon.)

As we mentioned when we first got our hands on some room photos, the two-bedroom Piano Suite (and the 20 or so other rooms DVF will eventually roll out for Claridge's) is a perfect fit for people who love bright colors and prints. But now that we've seen these rooms up close and personal, it's also for anyone who loves luxury and technology.

Claridge's Suits Up with a New Paul Smith Boutique

London Fashion Week may have just ended, and the "Fash Pack" of editors, celebrities and photographers may have moved on to the runways of Milan, but that doesn't mean that London's shows are quickly forgotten. British designer Paul Smith, best known for his creative, yet proper, approach to men's suiting has just opened a jewelbox of a womenswear store, and it's nestled inside the swank Claridge's Hotel in the Mayfair neighborhood.

Claridge's is perfect for it, since they are far more fashion-happy than your average luxury hotel. Last Christmas, their lobby Christmas tree was a custom tree by John Galliano for Christian Dior design, and the hotel has just unveiled a complement of Diane Von Furstenberg-designed suites.

Katy Perry Ditched the Skin Tight Jeans for a Tea Dream at Claridge's

Earlier today we mentioned how we were going to do a tea date at Claridge's in London to see if the hotel really does measure up to all the luxury it eschews in the Maybourne Hotel Group magazine. Well, we'll have more on that later because nothing is more important than telling you we were there while Katy Perry was there having tea with three friends.

We had a feeling a huge celeb was on the property when we rolled up and spied an uncomfortably large crowd of paparazzi out front. But we had no idea who it could be until we put our name in for tea and just beyond the maitre d's stand was the teenage dream herself, Miz Katy Perry.

She was in full hair and makeup and a stylishly retro blue dress with white polka dots. Apparently, hotel staffers were much relieved to see her in this outfit compared to the one the day before which involved a see-through skirt. (Don't worry, she was wearing knickers.)

Finally! More than two weeks after the Diane Von Furstenberg rooms at The Claridge's Hotel were unveiled we have some amazing photos to show you. We hope you like prints!

These photos are of the Piano Suite which is the first DVF-designed room to be unveiled and which was done in collaboration with DVF's longtime friend and interior decorator Olivier Gelbsmann. The other 20 or so guestrooms will come online later. The fashionable rooms feature glasswork from Murano, handcrafted items from Bali, handcrafted rugs and photographs from DVF's own travels through Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle.

Has Anyone Been Inside the DVF Rooms at Claridge's?

NOT designed by DVF.

The much-anticipated Diane Von Furstenberg rooms at The Claridge's Hotel in London has been garnering all sorts of press love--including some unsightly slobbering from us.

But the thing is, despite the numerous articles featuring Diane herself talking about her designs for the hotel and despite the A-list celeb party to celebrate the launch of the rooms, which was attended by Madge and Gwynnie, these rooms remain unseen.

The hotel's press team, who have been gracefully tolerant of our annoying photo requests, tell us the photos are coming very soon--possibly next week--but until then, the website is still showing old photos of the suites and we've yet to see even a swatch of the animal prints that DVF promises will be in the room. And there is no word yet on how to book these suites and how much they will cost.

We understand that in the fashion world you need to build up the buzz about your line but even fashion designers release sketches and send models down the runway before hanging their merchandise on the racks. We're waiting DVF but we can't say for how much longer. (Ok, fine, we'll wait but please it's killing us!)

Have you been inside the DVF rooms at Claridge's? What are they like? Let us know! Even better, send us pics!

The DVF Rooms at Claridge's Reunite Besties Madonna and Gwyneth

It looks like we weren't the only ones frothing at the mouth over the Diane von Fursternberg rooms at the Claridge's Hotel in London. At a party to celebrate the new rooms, Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow "happily posed" for the cameras putting the rumors to rest that their "besties forever" relationship was over.

Also attending the celebration were DVF herself, Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham, fashion designer Valentino, Jimmy Choo's Tamara Mellon and supermodel Natalia Vodianova. Apparently not in attendance? The DVF rooms!

Marie Claire attended the party as did Grazia which was held in the hotel's ballroom with a pre-war theme, but no one snapped any pics of the rooms! We've been hounding the hotel's PR team and they keep telling us there are no photos just yet. Normally, we think begging is unattractive but screw it--please send us photos of the DVF rooms at Claridge's if you got 'em!

Duh, Lederhosen is Totally Not Allowed at Claridge's

De-Nein-ed!

Yesterday we were all excited about the new Diane von Furstenberg rooms coming to The Claridge's Hotel in London but it turns out the hotel is not just a fashionista but also an officer of the fashion police.

According to this report, a man dressed in full German lederhosen gear was kicked out of the hotel bar because they do not allow shorts to be worn after 6pm:

Dr Dickinson, who had gone to the hotel’s bar with his partner and a friend after visiting an art exhibition, was wearing the German leather shorts - accompanied with the traditional jacket and hat with feather, plus shoes and long socks. While kilts and other types of traditional national wear are acceptable in the hotel, lederhosen are not.

Ladies, don't fret as your short skirts and dresses are perfectly acceptable. But we're not so sure what the policy is on dirndls. Just to be safe, avoid all traditional German garb. But we're going to bet you have more commons sense than Dr. Dickinson, who is actually a Scot.

Have you ever encountered a dress code at a hotel? What was it and more importantly, did they allow your lederhosen in? Let us know in comments below.

Attention all fashionistas who fawn over Diane von Furstenberg's iconic wrap dresses and fun prints: the wait for her first attempt at hotel decor is almost over--the DVF rooms at The Claridge's Hotel in London will be unveiled this Wednesday, June 23.

The WSJ got a sneak peek at four of the 20 rooms, including a three-bedroom suite, The Piano Suite:

Inside the grand suite, the characteristics of Ms. von Furstenberg's fashion soon become apparent. The curtains aren't fully up yet, but the valances already hung on the walls offer a taste of the contemporary prints that the designer will be using. Chinese florals in big and bold scale, as well as animal patterns, are just some of the styles revealed prior to the opening....

When Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal recently visited London for his Prince of Persia premiere, he shacked up at The Claridge's Hotel in the Mayfair part of town. But even without a hunky actor holed up in their suites, the hotel still has a touch of Hollywood as their spa has just introduced Hollywood Glamour Beauty Icons treatments.

Yes, these treatments are inspired by iconic Hollywood stars from cinema's golden age and thankfully, not today's hot messes (We mean you, Lohan.) Here's a sample of the new treatments you can try:

· The Grace Kelly: A 1-hour cellular facial, a manicure, pedicure and a light lunch for ladies. (Two and 3/4 hours, £250)
· The Clark Gable: A 1-hour deep-tissue massage, 1-hour cellular facial and a light lunch for men. (Two hours, £226)
· The Fred Astaire: A personal training session, facial, back massage, a filing of the hands and a light lunch. (Two and a half hours, £232)
· The Vivien Leigh: A back massage, facial, manicure with “Miss Scarlett” polish, an eyebrow clean-up and Darjeeling tea. (Two hours, £190)

Diane von Furstenberg in the lobby of Claridge's.

Don't you love it when fashion designers play hotelier? We love ourselves some fashion hotels, so are totally psyched about this next-season news: the Diane von Furstenberg-designed rooms at Claridge's in London will be unveiled in June. Which, when you think about it, is the best time of year to sport a DVF wrap dress, so this development couldn't be more on trend.

We got excited about this project when it was announced last year and are dying to see how von Furstenberg's signature prints work alongside the beautiful antique pieces at Claridge's. The designer is also bringing out a new collection of home decor in 2011, but somehow we expect we'd be able to afford a night in one of her Claridge's rooms before we can fit out our apartment with her bedding, bath, and tabletop accessories.
