The blind item CAN ONLY be Liza Minnelli, who is a reckless chimney, and the former husband is David Gest who alleges that when married, Liza threw a lamp at him at the Connaught Hotel in London back in 2003.

As for the hotel, the guesses say Hessischer Hof.If only we spoke German we could call the hotel to verify.
