A Cheap Weekend Break from London: The Georgian House Hotel

With so much happening on the London hotel scene we rarely want to leave but occasionally we see a hotel or deal we can’t resist. This time it was more the deal than the hotel, when we spotted this on Wahanda: £99 Spa Break for two at the Georgian House Hotel including a treatment and breakfast.

So off we went to the country village of Haslemere in Surrey just a 45 minute train journey from London. The Georgian House Hotel is located slap, bang in the middle of the High Street. It’s a big old hotel and inside is very dated, more like your grandma’s house or an old people’s home with floral bed throws, matching curtains and big old woolly blankets.

We were in the deluxe twin room which had two double beds, an ensuite bathroom, TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, an iron, three small toiletry products and telephone. The rooms were basic and clean, but since the hotel is rated a three-star, we weren’t expecting much more.
