Holiday Inn Express Bothell Washington USA
On a recent visit, I needed to fix a place to stay in Bothell (North of Seattle), Washington. The staff communicated very well.
The rooms aren't grandly spacious, but workable for a long weekend stay. Space is used very well, so the TV, Bar Fridge, all that is in one converted entertainment centre that speaks of some tweaking in order to get the most out of the 'wasted' space usually in a room. The building must be new, and the equipment - fridge, A/C - all worked well and were quiet when necessary.
The onsite pool and hot tub aren't olympic sized, but they're open late enough that a refreshing wade/paddle is just what the doctor would order.
The location of this Hotel is the most key. Since it's about a block off of the 405 along the 527, the mini-mall plaza to which it's adjacent is on the corner of some major roadway, even though it's got some decent shielding from the noise normally associated. In the general (500m) area are about 9 restaurants (steak houses to chinese to delivering pizza to fast food), one large 24-hour grocery store, a 7-11, one small bar, a bank, a radio shack, all manner of light accessory shopping, an amazing amount of stuff.
I enjoyed my stay in this hotel so much, I wrote the manager. His response was mainly formulaic, but he praised his staff and his chain's policies, and laid on his subordinates' credit with a shovel, and it was really impressive.
In all, I cannot recommend this hotel Enough. Do give it a try if you're in the Seattle/Everett/MillCreek area. Being north of Seattle and almost at the junction of the major I-5/I-405 highways, it's a great place to stop after dealing with the paranoid border cops and before tackling Seattle.
