School Daze at McMenamins Kennedy School

[Ed. Note: Hotel Maven Annie0007 returns with an in-depth look at an "old school" hotel in Portland.]
The autumn leaves aren't falling yet...but it's back to school at The McMenamins Kennedy School, an elementary school-turned-groovy hotel in Portland, Oregon.
You'll get an education wandering about the school - no pass required - which dates back 1915. Hallways are chock full artwork bursting with youthful exuberance and creativity: funky mosaics and murals, paintings, photographs, and more.
The rooms, converted classrooms, are appropriately themed from children's books, songs and sayings, and many have chalkboards, kids' coat hooks and bookcases. Thirsty? Squat down for a sip at a corner water fountain.
