Malibu Barbie's Steak House
August 1, 2006 at 1:42 PM | 0 Comments
Where else in the world would you find a steak house decorated entirely in pink? At the Madonna Inn, they've taken gaudy to the max inside their restaurant, complete with pink chairs and pink leather booths, along with some interesting lighting choices. But the people who shot this short video tour think its "amazing." The perfect place for Malibu Barbie and Ken to stop on their drive up the coast.

An iPod Proposal at Madonna Inn
July 24, 2006 at 5:42 PM | 0 Comments

Naturally, if you choose to propose to your girlfriend at the Madonna Inn in San Louis Obispo where each room has a different theme like the all-pink Krazy Dazy room and the Leprechaun Irish Hills Suite, your proposal better be inventive.
This man chose to do it on an engraved iPod Nano which is original and sweet, sure, but with so much to work with at the inn, we think he should have reached higher. Like clubbing her over the head a la Caveman style in the Caveman room. Now, does that say "I love you so much, I want to be with your forever" or what?

Confessions from the Madonna Inn
February 9, 2006 at 12:26 PM | 0 Comments
When we simultaneously think of Madonna and hotels, we think of the following: Playing truth or dare, practicing Kabbalah, Sean Penn (we can't help it, he was our first love), our black adidas track suit and four-hour workouts with a portable yoga instructor.
But the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, California is unlike any of the above. Each room is actually one of several funky, and maybe tacky, suites like the Irish Hills room which is covered in Lucky Charm sort of stuff. There's also the Krazy Daisy room which is covered in pink.
Since we've never been inside we are relying on the words of a very frequent guest who has given us the complete 411 on the whole joint:
I love this place. I have stayed here on at least ten different occasions, which means ten different rooms; I love each and every one of them....
This is a fun place to stay the night, or several nights, but if you need perfection, don't stay here. Previous guests have not taken care of some of the things and it sadly shows. I'm not saying anything is in dis-repair, but there are some chipped and broken things that are hard to match and replace. So if you stay here, be careful with the furnishings, including and especially, the glass, tile and marble.
But don't worry because this guest has at least three more paragraphs devoted to the amazing steak and pastries they serve there. However, we would like to suggest to the hotel that a little bit of botox and facial dermabrasion is nothing to be ashamed about.

Lucky Suite At The Madonna Inn
May 6, 2005 at 12:01 PM | 0 Comments

When the stars, starlets, grips and hacks need a break from The Industry they head up PCH and check-in to the Madonna Inn.
109 unique kitsch rooms await, including, but not limited to, the Caveman Room, which is made out of rocks, Jungle Rock Room, think zebra stripes everywhere, and Cloud Nine with its watching golden cherubs hanging from the rafters.
So many themed rooms, so little time. You can check 'em all out here.
Our favorite has to be #156, the over-the-top Irish Hills room. From the looks of this room Lucky himself may be hiding under the bed ready to jump out and sing "Frosted Lucky Charms, They're Magically Delicious!" as you enter the semi-suite.
Seriously, we can't believe we waited over a year to tell y'all about this hotel--we have been wanting to spend a night at this property for some time now.
If you get there before us, be sure to drop us an email, or just leave a comment on this story.
