Robert Downey Jr.'s Palm Springs Past

The New York Post reported that Robert Downey Jr. took his fiancée, Susan Levin, to the new Jonathan Adler-designed hotel, The Parker Palm Springs.
In another life the Parker used to be called the Merv Griffin Givenchy Hotel & Spa where Downey had his last drug bender and arrest back in 1999. Did Downey remember that the Parker is part of his old stomping and snorting and shooting grounds? Or did he purposefully take his newest bride to be on a trip through his drug addled past. Either way we hoped Downey had the presence of mind to get engaged while sitting next to the Sonny Bono statue.
