Twitpic of the Week: A Golden Globes Winner Snacks in the Hilton's Kitchen
In the ever-expanding universe of Twitter, there is one particular trend @HotelChatter happens to quite enjoy: candid hotel photos. These Twitpics range from stunning views to anti-views to celebrity tomfoolery and everything in between. And we can't get enough of 'em! Every Monday, we will feature one "Twitpic of the Week" to commemorate our favorite hotel-themed snapshot. Got a favorite of your own? Want to show off your sweet suite? Send it in!

For many actors, the real party took place not during last night's awards ceremony, but afterwards, inside the Beverly Hills Hilton's kitchen. OK, maybe just for one actor. But still. @EricStonestreet, who was nominated last night for his role as "Cameron" on Modern Family (and which managed to pick up this year's award for "Best Comedy Series"), was clearly enjoying himself during a late-night visit to the hotel's kitchen.
He better be careful. If Gordon Ramsay catches him in there, it's over.

Awards season has officially begun and all eyes will be on the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills this Sunday when it hosts the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards inside its iconic International Ballroom--for the 42nd time.
Sadly for all you celeb stalkers film enthusiasts, rooms at the hotel are entirely sold-out but we have the next best thing for you--the menu for the awards ceremony. So not only can you dissect what your favorite starlets are wearing on the red carpet, you can also dissect what they will be "eating" during the awards show. (We have to assume that those in tight dresses might refrain.)

Rocking Around The Hotel Christmas Tree: The Beverly Hills Hotel
All this week we'll be rocking around the Hotel Christmas Tree near and far to see how hotels are ringing in the holidays. So grab your eggnog, put on the Mariah Carey Christmas album (you know you own it) and come virtually admire these hotel Christmas trees with us!
The Beverly Hills Hotel, being a traditional luxury hotel, has opted for a traditional luxury Christmas tree with glittering gold and crimson bows, pine corn ornaments, golden balls of various sizes and tipped with what looks like golden banana leaf.
But of course, one Christmas tree is not enough. Aside from the tree that greets guest in the middle of the lobby, theres another one just a mere few feet away that is slightly smaller but features the same trimmings and a few boxed presents underneath. The hotel also features a menorah in the lobby for those celebrating "8 crAzy nights."

What is This at The Beverly Hills Hotel?
This machine looks vaguely familiar, doesn't it? We feel like we may have used one of these before but a long, long time ago in another lifetime. Can you help us determine what it is?
Heh, we spied this real-life pay phone at the Beverly Hills Hotel the other week, something we haven't seen inside a hotel (or anywhere else really) in what seems like forever but has probably only been about five years or so. Also, phone calls are now 50 cents?
It's kind of sad but hotel pay phones will probably go the way of record players, mail boxes, and VHS tapes--nifty little contraptions for the younger generation to photograph and say, "OMG, can you imagine calling someone up on this?"
Well, this pay phone would certainly come in handy if you're cellphone died and you just happen to spot Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes over at Bar Nineteen 12.
Do you remember the last time you used a pay phone in a hotel? Share your memories in comments below!

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes: Two Perfect 10s at Bar Nineteen 12

The Beverly Hills Hotel is no stranger to celebrity guests, especially in the hotel's Polo Lounge restaurant and the Fountain Coffee Room where famous faces frequently dine (and hold their wacky wedding receptions.
But on Saturday night it was at the hotel's Bar Nineteen 12 that we saw one of the newest hottest couples in Hollywood--Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes.
The pretty duo (seriously, they are both equally pretty) were dining with some friends in a booth on the bar's terrace overlooking the storied hotel grounds. Sorry, we can't tell you what they were drinking but we did catch them passing small plates to each other. We didn't see any mini grilled cheeses that used to be on the menu but we did smell some truffled mac and cheese wafting from their area. Just sayin'.

Now The Beverly Hills Hotel Will Get its Own Makeover

Last week as we were traipsing through the newly glamorous Hotel Bel-Air, we had the chance to speak with general manager Edward Mady who is also overseeing things at the Bel-Air's sister hotel, the equally iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. And once it was confirmed by Dorchester Collection CEO Christopher Cowdray that the Pink Palace would be getting some renovations of its own, on its 100th birthday no less, we promptly pumped Mady for more info.
The Beverly Hills Hotel renovations won't be as extensive as the Bel-Air's but Mady said the refresh will include a soft goods upgrade of the rooms along with some new technology and a few changes to the public spaces like switching up the carpeting in the ballroom and the lobby (where it desperately needs it.)

Gene Simmons is Getting Married at the Same Place He Held a Global Web Chat

If this is the summer's second biggest celebrity wedding, then it's at least the first to take place at a well-known hotel. On October 1, The Beverly Hills Hotel will host the wedding of KISS front Gene Simmons and his girlfriend of 28 years, Shannon Tweed.
Evidently, Simmons has been itching to host another event at the hotel, and decided to step things up since the last time he was there. Apparently, weddings are more involved than global web chats. Like, for example, they require fancy letter invitations—and Gene Simmons' wedding invitations (scripted by his children) don't disappoint. Click below to read what they say!

Apparently, Oprah Has a Thing For The Montage Beverly Hills

It was during a routine Twitter browsing session that we came across an excited fan's 88-character message about spotting the big "O" at none other than the Montage Beverly Hills. Now, this hotel has been known as a haven for celebrities for some time now—Mariah and Nick threw their baby shower there, for crissakes. The swanky hotel also accommodated a newly-homeless Maria Shriver when she needed a place to stay.
It was yesterday afternoon when @ttcrebekah's Oprah sighting took place—in the gift store, no less. We'd imagine, after the crazy giveaways her old show was known for, she's probably got the extra cash to pick up a few "nice things" for the house.

L'Ermitage Beverly Hills: Still Not a Viceroy But is Getting a New Restaurant
Now that L'Ermitage Beverly Hills has become a Viceroy spot sans the actual Viceroy name, the hotel is revamping its food offerings and just named Joseph Elevado as its new executive chef.
Elevado, a Staten Island native who cooks up Asian-inspired eats, will add new flavor to the hotel's eating options, including the historic lounge to in-room dining and poolside fare. But the big change will be the a new signature restaurant that's set to debut in the fall.

Little Did We Know What Was Happening Behind Staff Doors at The Beverly Hills Hotel

Well, it's a good thing the Beverly Hills Hotel got this little mess cleaned up before the pending arrival of Prince William and his new bride but still, who knew such scandalous things were happening behind the Staff Only doors at one of the ritziest hotels in town (and a personal fave hotel of ours?)
Alberto del Hoyo, the general manager of this Dorchester Collection hotel, resigned a few weeks ago for reasons supposedly unrelated to a lawsuit filed against him and the hotel that claims he sexually harassed female employees and made derogatory racist remarks.

Dining Above BH While Changes Happen Below

Last night, we watched the sun go down over Los Angeles from the rooftop of Thompson Beverly Hills. ABH, as the roofdeck is called, is open only to hotel guests and ABH members who are required to carry either their hotel room card or the member card to gain entrance.
This being Thompson and Beverly Hills, we expected a bit of a scene. But last night, things were pretty chill on the rooftop, probably because it was Monday. We sipped some sauvignon blanc, indulged in a few chips with guacamole (that's so LA, we know), and spied on some of the hotel guests milling about. (No one famous, sorry.)
But what was interesting to us was word of the changes happening to the hotel's dining scene.

Wills and Kate Will Live It Up at the Beverly Hills Hotel During Their U.S. Tour
Everyone is eagerly awaiting for newlyweds Prince William and Princess Kate to make their big stateside debut—which will be Kate's first trip to the U.S. One of the royal pit stops will apparently be at the famously pink Beverly Hills Hotel, HollywoodLife reported.
We thought the couple would take up in one of the hotel's brand-new loaded presidential bungalows, but we're guessing that the outdoor shower for two isn't becoming of a princess.
