Snake River Lodge Offers $999 Spa Credit

Two things we love — free stuff and pampering — have been united in beautiful matrimony at Jackson Hole’s Snake River Lodge & Spa, A RockResort. The luxury spa resort has unveiled a “Spa for Free” package that offers a $999 credit for the 17,000-square-foot Avanyu Spa and three nights accommodations for two people in a Lodge room.

The special is available May 1-22, making it perfect timing for what would be a seriously spectacular Mother’s Day gift. We’re pretty sure Mom would forget all about that time you broke her crystal bowl into a million pieces after spending a weekend indulging in Avanyu’s signature treatments (think Champagne Mud Wraps, High Altitude Repair facials and River Rock massages).

But, alas, all marriages have their hang-ups, and this one’s no different. (Sorry folks, there’s no such thing as a free spa day.) Expect to pony up at least $999 for three-nights lodging. All things considered, that’s really not bad — but be warned that $999 is just the starting rate.

Ski Hotels 2008: Hotel Terra Wants You to Ski Green

The new Hotel Terra Jackson Hole officially opens on January 29, and to celebrate the green hotel's offering up a "Ski Green" package that includes a room and lift tickets for two, starting at $303 a night.

With that, you'll get a warm fuzzy feeling for staying in a hotel that goes way beyond not washing the towels every night. The bed is 100 percent natural as are the bath amenities, there are recycling bins in-room, heating is via an in-floor system to reduce energy waste and the coffee set up offers fair trade organic brews.

The Jackson Hole property is the first in a planned chain of Terra Resorts, all of which aim to provide boutique amenities (whatever that means) while also being green enough to score LEED certification. But don't hold your breath for a massive expansion: Terra is shooting to open just 12-15 new hotels in the next seven years.

From August 26th to September 29th, Snake River Lodge & Spa, Rock Resorts' Jackson Hole luxury property, is offering a pretty nice late summer deal for the fishermen (and fisherwomen) out there.

For $369 per night, you get a half-day fly-fishing wade trip for two in the Snake River, a 50-minute "Sportsman's Relief" deep tissue massage for each person, and a breakfast buffet for each day of your stay.

It's called the "Fish and Refresh" (cute!) package and it's a super good deal. The hotel assured us that although reserving the package is subject to availability, there are no blackout dates.

The $369-per-night "Fish and Refresh" rate is based on a three-night stay for two. Since the resort is 40 minutes away from the closest airport, you should be making a weekend out of it anyway.

Travelzoo let us know that luxury hotel company RockResorts just put nine of its resorts on sale, letting you stay for as little as $89-$96 per night, as long as you book in the next four days. This 96-hour sale ends Sunday, August 21 at 11:59PM MST and black out dates do apply. Normal rates at some of these upscale resorts can go for upward of $300.

If we were not constantly hunched over our PowerBook, we would try to sneak away for a weekend at the Snake River Lodge & Spa for some early season snowboarding, maybe in December?

The mountain side location is tough to beat and that Flinstone-esque pool looks dip worthy. Also, we hear the resort puts speakers in the bath, so you can listen to music while you take a hot shower after a day of hitting the slopes. Nice touch Snake folks.

Oh, and one of things we like best about the Snake Inn? When someone bitches on TripAdvisor management responds. Kudos General Manager Bruce Grosbety, getting involved in the conversation is what it is all about these days.
