More Cool Hotel Jobs: Elephant Camp Coordinator at Four Seasons Golden Triangle

All this week, HotelChatter contributor Eric Rosen will be telling us about more of the coolest hotel jobs out there. He reached out across the globe to talk to the dynamic folks who do everything from wrangling elephants (and guests!) to designing the latest high-tech gadgetry for your next guest room. So check back every day to see who he’s talking to next.
When we talk about hotels, which we do a lot of around here, we usually talk about awesome rooms, unique amenities, and cresting trends. But every so often, we like to focus on the people who make the hotels we talk about so unique, like Taweesak Keereekaew (Khun Wee for short), the Elephant Camp Coordinator at the Four Seasons Golden Triangle.

Baby Elephant Gets a Bath at Anantara Resort Golden Triangle, The World Melts
Need a cute reason to visit the Anantara Resort Golden Triangle in Thailand? A Baby Elephant! Need an even cuter reason to visit? Baby Elephant Getting a Bath!!*
The ellie was born on May 23 weighing 220 lbs and was nicknamed Nong 'Phil which is an abbreviation for the phrase "Little Curfew" since the baby was born past the elephants' bedtime. His formal name is Plai Pa Choke which means "to bring luck."
At Anatara Golden Triangle, they house houses 35 elephants, their mahout caregivers, and their families in their Elephant Camp, an extension of the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre. Guests can explore the Elephant Camp during their stay and they can even "drive" the elephant after some training (We think that's a bit unnecessary. Showing up for bathtime should be just fine. And you know the ellies love it!)

Buy Some Louboutin Shoes and Save an Elephant With Four Seasons
Famous sexy shoe designer Christian Louboutin has dabbled with hotel partnerships before, making a One & Only Resorts line of sandals for One & Only Resorts, which we totally understand as well as covet. Happily, he's back at it again, but this time teaming up with Four Seasons to create an extremely limited-edition colorway of a stiletto sandal.
The "Rodita" sandal, a fashionista favorite of Christian's Spring 2008 line, has returned in hot pink specifically for the Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle in Thailand, with all proceeds going to the GTAEF charity (Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation). Yes that's right: sales from the $895 shoes are going to save elephants from the streets in Thailand, but there's only 50 pairs of the hot numbers to sell.
They're real showstoppers, but at $895 for the togs alone, we're wondering exactly how much it costs to stay at the Four Seasons Tented Camp itself? It's just as we expected: plan to shell out 70,200 THB ($1,995) for a one-night, all-inclusive stay at the luxury retreat. Thanks, but we think we'll just take the Louboutins as consolation. For those interested, the 50 pairs are only available for purchase on FootCandyShoes.com until they run out forever.

A Stay at The Four Seasons Tented Camps Inspires Couple to Save the Elephants

When you mention Manolo Blahnik, Four Seasons and elephants all in the same sentence, our ears will totally prick up.
Recently, the luxe shoe designer pledged his support to the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation by doing what he does best, designing a (limited-edition) shoe.
Available as of March in the US the Blahnik designed D'orsay pump with patent brown trimming and patent brown 90mm heel will feature Congo leopard print pony (fake) leather. The shoes will exclusively be sold through Footcandy Shoe Stores in California but can be shipped anywhere in the world. It will retail at approximately $600 with proceeds going to the GTAEF conservation project.
Luckily for us, unluckily for our wallet, there is a FootCandy store just a few miles from our house. As for the shoe, we don't have a picture of it yet but it will look something like this.
Now you must be wondering, how does the Four Seasons play into all this?
