Conquer the Blue Monster at Miami's Blue Resort
October 9, 2008 at 2:00 PM | 0 Comments
Just outside Miami lies the City of Doral, a suburb about 8 miles from M.I.A. that -- fun fact! -- took its name from the popular (and famous, we assume) Doral Golf Resort and Spa.
But movin' in on the city's namesake golf resort now is ultra-luxe The Blue, a brand new "urban luxury escape" that will lure the golf-loving travelers out of Miami.
Besides the obvious awesomeness of the name of the golf course the resort overlooks, The Blue Monster, the all-suite property has some baller amenities in every room:
Fully-equipped kitchens, oversized private verandas and marble-tiled five-fixture bathrooms with rain shower and stand-alone Jacuzzi bathtub accompanied with a flat screen television. The room amenities include plush terry robes, 42" flat panel high-definition LCD televisions, in-room coffee/tea makers, wireless internet access, sound systems with DVD players and iPod docking stations.
Unfortunately, the resort is still in its soft opening stages so the signature restaurant (5300 Chop House) or poolside cafe aren't up and running yet, but to compensate the resort is offering rates starting at $189 until December 20th.
Wait, isn't the cookie monster a blue monster? Are there free cookies anywhere at this resort? They should really get to thinkin' about that.
Super Bowl Hotel Parties
Hampton Inn and Suites Has $299 Rooms Open For Super Bowl

Know somewhere with open hotel rooms or kick-ass hotel parties for Super Bowl weekend in Miami? Tip us off.

The Hampton Inn & Suites in Miami West at Doral Boulevard has rooms open for Super Bowl at the totally do-able price of $299 a night. You can select from either a king bed or two double beds. Suites with full kitchens go up to $399 a night.
And as far as we can tell there is no minimum nights stay required. You can book a room for Sunday, checking out Monday morning still at the $299 rate. Plus the TripAdvisor reviews are above average.
As far as getting to South Beach for parties and to Dolphin Stadium for the actual game, this Hampton Inn is about 20 minutes away from both.
One thing we can vouch for is the nearby Dolphin Mall (.5 miles away). This is a mix of outlet stores and small retail shops but there is Saks Off 5th Avenue and a Neiman Marcus Last Call there which we've have personally hit up several times before.
So if ladies are on the trip and bored, this mall is worth checking out.
