A Ritardando for Tempo Miami?
Looks like RockResorts' newest property, Tempo Miami, is majorly delayed. And, um, for those not familiar with our Friday afternoon strokes of genius throwing back to our high school band geek days, we shall clarify: a ritardando means, like, a gradual slowdown of tempo in music. Get it? Tempo? Slowdown? Delay?
The property was originally scheduled to open on April 15th (and back in September, the confident folks at RockResorts were encouraging people to book their stays for April) but the new opening date is listed on the website as "September 2009" and rezzies are being taken for the whole month.
Rooms are going to be starting around $300 when the 56-guestroom property finally does open, and guests dishing out those kinds of dollas will be able to enjoy the 8,000-square-foot spa, lagoon-style sunset swimming pool, and its killer location across from Miami's new performing arts center and adjacent to the Miami Heat's sports arena.

RockResorts Sets a New "Tempo" in Miami

Though RockResorts is known best for its fun-loving properties perched on snowy peaks in Colorado, the hotel chain's "first urban venture" is scheduled to open April 15, 2009, in white-hot Miami.
Sure, that's old news. But the most recent word from RockResorts is a fancy new name for the, uh, hotel formerly known as Eleven Biscayne, now known as--wait for it--Tempo Miami, a RockResort.
We know, a new hotel name, you can hardly contain your anticipation. Presumably, the modern moniker is intended to reflect Miami's pulsing beat and legendary sexy flava. After all, the 67-floor Tempo Miami will feature seriously swanky (read: $450 a night) digs, with 56 boutique guest rooms and 305 residences, as well as a restaurant called Amuse with a self-forecasted "ultra-stylish atmosphere, chi-chi clientele, and exceptional global fusion menu."
