Spain's New Intercontinental Is a Steal at $125 a Night

We don’t normally associate golf with cheap digs (though to be honest, we try not to associate golf with too much in our minds). But the brand new InterContinental La Torre Golf Resort in Murcia (AKA Spain’s WAG retreat) is offering a pretty nifty opening rate of €99, or $125.
There’s lots to do in Murcia, like a baroque cathedral, pretty Cartagena nearby and 300 days of sunshine every year. The resort itself has a pool 24-hour “fitness zone” and a spa, and all of the 133 rooms have a balcony or terrace.
Yes, it’s pretty cheap for an Intercontinental, but we’d probably only advise it for golf fans, though. It’s set in the middle of the La Torre Golf Resort, and boasts of “spectacular views across the golf course to the mountains beyond”. If you’re anything like us, they’d have to be some pretty spectacular mountains to distract from the tartan-clad lemmings down below.
The €99 offer is good through March 31st. To book, email info.latorre@ihg.com.
