Things haven't been so, er, bad for "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul since the show ended. He's got a new movie out--"Need for Speed"--and he got to indulge in the luxury hotel scene this weekend in Atlanta at the St. Regis Hotel.
Sources tell us that he was a guest of the hotel over the weekend, making good use of St. Regis Altanta Bar both on Friday and Saturday nights with his wife and several local Atlanta friends ("Need for Speed" was filmed there.)
Because the St. Regis is a respectable spot who won't dish on their celebrity guests, we don't know exactly what room he was in but if we had to guess, we'd say it was one of the hotel's nearly 700-sq.ft. Metropolitan Suites, which are the starting suite accommodations. Here's what's inside:
Jon Hamm has embraced Atlanta as his temporary second home while filming his new baseball movie, "Million Dollar Arm".
The “Mad Men” star was at the St. Regis Atlanta's hotel bar last Tuesday, not for a nightcap, but because the bar has been transformed (even its famous mural shown below) into a steakhouse for the film. Funny enough, Hamm isn’t staying at the St. Regis (we wonder why?), because at $440 a night, it seems pretty reasonable for an A-lister, no? Instead, we believe he's been laying his head at the Loews Atlanta Midtown, coming in at $329 a night.
Anyhoo, the day of the shoot, traffic into the St. Regis’ Buckhead area was quite a pain, but those accustomed to the ATL’s legendary traffic jams didn’t seem to mind this minor inconvenience, especially when learning it was due to Jon Hamm’s presence. After all, this is Don Draper we’re talking about—heartthrob and hero to many. Oh, and Denzel Washington (who happens to co-star in "Million Dollar Arm") and Colin Farell who was a guest, have been on site as well, so the St. Regis nabe has been a veritable celebrity-sighting scene as of late.
Traffic-schmaffick, Hollywood’s gorgeous men are in town!
Atlanta's "Beverly Hills East" aka Buckhead is working the sophisticate. The brand new St. Regis Atlanta, where a king-size room starts at $240 and comes with butler service is delivering impressively on dining. The hotel has brought in a notable chef to open their signature restaurant.
Paces 88, led by Atlanta Chef de Cuisine Mark Alba opened just two nights ago. We hear guests can expect an American restaurant with a twist on local and seasonal southern recipes. The Paces 88 name comes from the hotel's address (88 West Paces Ferry Road).
Breakfast sounds killer good with options like the skillet-crisp Georgian trout with shirred eggs, pork belly cracklings and roasted pear compote, or maybe the mini buckwheat and cottage cheese flapjacks with fresh berry salad and warm Vermont syrup. (OK, not all of it is local.) The lunch and dinner menus are equally intriguing, and everything sounds even better after a few St. Regis traditional drinks like the white peach bellini and West Paces Mary.
We want to try their boozehound's spin on sweet tea. The Paces Iced Tea blends Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea vodka, pomegranate juice and lime for thirst-quenching cold summer drink we're pretty sure goes down quickly so we'll be ordering doubles. You'll find us out on the patio by the fountain and tropical backdrop.
In the past few years, Atlanta Georgia's Buckhead neighborhood has become the place for new luxury hotel projects, everyone from the Ritz-Carlton, St Regis, Sheraton, W, InterContinental, Westin, JW Marriott is either building a hotel or has a location there already.
The development which really put Buckhead on the map is called Streets of Buckhead, and has high-end shopping, restaurants and condos in addition to Starwood Capital's 1 Hotel & Baccarat Hotel, both of which were to include residences. Now it seems both of those hotels have been taken out of the development.

1 Hotel on the Left, Baccarat on the Right
Atlanta's Buckhead community has had a lot of development lately. It's quickly becoming the Beverly Hills of Atlanta, with luxury developments springing up left and right.
One of the biggest developments is the Streets of Buckhead, which is a mixed-use development made up of luxury apartments, high-end retailers, an office building and three hotels. Two of these hotels are confirmed to be a 1 Hotel & Residences and Baccarat Hotel & Residences, both of which are from Starwood Capital.
