Looking to say goodbye to the craptastic year that was 2009 and still in need of a hotel room somewhere? We've already told you where to book in Miami, New York and the important timezones but we'll be hitting up more cities today for New Year's Eve. Did we miss a city? Want a better deal? Let us know and we'll help you out.

D.C. may be all business most of the year, but boy, can Washington get down with OTT celebrations come New Year’s Eve. This year’s lavish parties include a James Bond License to Thrill NYE Thunderball 2010 gala at the Washington Plaza Hotel (stilt walkers! Sean Connery look-alikes!) and another round of Big Night D.C. at the Gaylord National Hotel.

Maybe it’s just us, but isn’t there something kind of distasteful about such unbridled indulgence in a place that’s meant to remind us that there’s a recession to climb out of and a health plan to work out? No?

Well, however you swing it, our pick for New Year’s Eve in D.C. is more sedate but doesn’t require skimping on the fun. And it involves sake! Zentan, the pan-Asian restaurant inside Donovan House is serving a $65 4-course prix-fixe on Thursday night, with three seatings: 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. Reservations were still available for all three times when we checked this morning, and we definitely recommend opting for the sake pairing.
