Hotel Hansablick: A Berlin Budget Pick With Colorful Style

Berlin's Hotel Hansablick is bright, light and colorful, with paintings galore and light wooden floors. And it won't take too much out of your holiday budget, either. For a budget hotel, it's kind of upscale, and even has a small fitness room with a personal trainer available on demand. And even free internet access (though not Wifi, yet).
Hotel Hansablick is in a hundred-year-old building (but the furnishings don't exactly date from this time--more from the Ikea-age, perhaps), in a good location near the Berlin Zoo. You can walk to the Brandenburg Gate or for a shopping spree on the Ku-damm from here, too. We're not talking youth hostel prices, but a very good middle-of-the-road deal that will give you the freedom to stay longer in Berlin (you'll want to: it's a city where you'll never stop discovering new things to do). Small double rooms start from 75 Euros per night ($100), with the large double rooms costing up to 145 Euros ($195) in peak season.
