Room with an Anti-View: Hotel Onix Liceo
You know the scene. You open the door to your brand new hotel room, run over to the window, open the blinds and bam, you are hit with the anti-view. Maybe you are looking down a dirty alley, witnessing a drug deal, staring at an air shaft in the face, or seeing a brick wall. Whatever you are viewing it is not extremely pleasurable. Help out your fellow hotel mavens by uploading your anti-views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number with the not-so-easy-on-the-eyes view.

This anti-view was taken by Flickr member Flight 404 from the Hotel Onix Liceo in Barcelona. He writes:
Not a bad hotel. Fairly new. But unfortunately close to La Rambla which, well, sucks.
Indeed, looking at his other pictures of the hotel, the place looks cool. And it's new, which is always a plus. But maybe La Rambla (a touristy street) is a place to avoid. George Clooney certainly did that.
Also, booking the place is a little tricky since the website is still not up. This booking site has the most information we could find. Buena Suerte!

Casa Camper Won't Steal your iPod

A recent guest at the Casa Camper Hotel Barcelona enjoyed a "fantastic" stay at the hotel, praising what everyone else seems to like about the spot--the decor, location, breakfasts and staff. Especially the staff.
The staff are absolutely lovely and committed to the ethos. I unwittingly left my iPod in our room on check-out but when we collected our baggage it was handed back. I know two people who have done similar in English hotels and never seen their MP3 players again! An amazing hotel that perfectly complements an amazing city.
Room rates run from $230 to $320.
