Grand Hotel Du Cap Ferrat Scene of Hotel Crime?
********* This event never happened at the Grand Hotel Du Cap Ferrat. You are making a mistake the Grand Hotel Du Cap Ferrat is not near Cannes it is in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and Mr. King never stayed in our hotel for the Cannes Film Festival in 2007.
UPDATE June 7, 2007: The general manager of the Grand Hotel Du Cap Ferrat emailed us, along with The Sun newspaper who originally reported this story, to say that this crime never happened here. In his own words, the GM writes:
So there you have it. Feel free to send us any of your Cannes hotel tips or information about this hotel, as well as maps of France as this GM offered to do.
*********
Bad things come in threes don't they? Well, this is our third story on hotel theft this week. Movie producer, Graham King, was mugged and beaten at his villa at the Grand Hotel Du Cap Ferrat in Cannes while in town for the Film Festival.
The robbers are said to have attacked King with CS gas and walked off with his passport, money and other personal items.
King was later moved back into the actual Du Cap hotel. According to sources, director Martin Scorsese fears that the robbers will come back to the place for him.
"There are some magpies about looking for their gold. And there is no better time than Cannes Film Festival when people know the rich and famous are in town. Security was stepped up almost immediately, just in time for Brad and Angelina's arrival," the London Sun quoted a source as saying.
Brad and Angelina. Man they get everything don't they? But a good tip to have when traveling--stay in Brangelina's hotel. That is, if you can afford it.

Hotel Welcome Goes Perfect With Sea Views and French Wine

Celebrities from Jean Cocteau to the Rolling Stones have spent time in Villeranche-sur-mer, a seaside French village neatly located between Nice and Monte Carlo, but without the overwhelming crowds. This weeks UK Times raved about Villeranche-sur-mer and has one big recommendation: stay at the Hotel Welcome.
Hotel Welcome is a 36-room place directly on the water, and after a 2002 renovation, each of the rooms has a balcony with a view over the sea. The Times suggests that, although the rooms are simple, the location is so perfect that "you can while away a portion of your weekend watching the comings and goings along the front".
You have to leave the hotel to get to a restaurant, but not if you just want a drink: the terrace-level Wine Bar takes care of that quite nicely. And they reckon it's just a hundred yards to nice restaurants anyway. While enjoying a stay at the Hotel Welcome, you can go diving, take a boat to Cannes or Monaco, rent your own sail boat, or just enjoy some good French wine. We pick the wine.

Cameron Diaz and JT to Marry in Nice Hotel
No, not a nice hotel. A hotel in Nice, France!
According to several sources, Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake are getting married this Saturday at the Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat which in French means, No Photographers Allowed or We Will Beat You Up.
The hotel, a popular place for celebs during the Cannes Film Festival, has apparently been completely booked to host the twosome's "special event." Could this be a classic celebrity red herring?
Well, when it was attempted to book an online reservation for May 7, there was no availabilty, so make of that what you will.
Their publicists have issued "No Comment" statements to the media, which means the wedding is probably taking place.
