Venus Albir Claims First Spanish Eco-Hotel Title

If you're talking eco hotels, let's start being environmentally sound right from the building process and on. That's what makes the Aparthotel Venus Albir on the Costa Blanca in Spain sound particularly "eco":
The main idea behind this tourist complex is the geo/bio construction which included building with local and natural materials such as thermal clay blocks, marble, cork insulation, ecological paints, wooden furniture, cotton sheets and latex mattresses.
The Venus Albir also has an "eco restaurant", and this combination made it eligible for the official certification as the first real bio hotel in Spain. So, with your environmental conscience soothed, you can relax at the beach (a short stroll away), indulge in the restaurant (it's all healthy, of course) or take a bath in the solar-heated water.
Or you can swim in the pool which they cheerfully advertise as being "for old and young".
Apartments for one or two people start at 47 Euros a night (US$65) in low season, with prices ranging up to 140 Euros ($195) for a 4-person apartment in the high season.
