A blogger recently posted "Faster than a speeding snail" in regard to his hotel WiFi, a phrase that says it all and even considered asking for a refund:

Your download speed : 38 kbps or 4.7 KB/sec.
Your upload speed : 42 kbps or 5.3 KB/sec.

Should I ask for my money back? Boston Park Plaza Hotel: nice price, lousy connectivity. Isn't it about time that when we buy Internet access, we get some kind of service guarantee?

We're all for asking for refunds and service guarantees. Why hotels are reluctant to do this we aren't so sure. God knows they are making a killing off the minibar.

Even though the slammin' summer deals are now long gone, hotels like to promote pumpkin season too. Like the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers which is celebrating autumn with their "Fall Foliage Package" now through November 30.

For all those who love taking long drives to enjoy the fall colors, the hotel aims to grab you for a night and help you continue your fall pleasure ride:

To celebrate the fall foliage season this year, The Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers has created a special package aimed to attract visitors during the Autumn Season, when the roads, hiking trails, museums, and restaurants are pleasantly uncrowded.

Aside from the drive to get there (hopefully you'll find a decongested, traffic free route), the promotion provides a night in one of the recently renovated rooms, a sachet of their signature "Autumn Leaves" tea, and breakfast for two in their Swan Café with a rate starting at $259.

The package does seem a little skimpy, especially if you're making a trek through Massachusetts. Perhaps they could rake together a big leaf pile for you to jump in?
