Millenium Bostonian Gets a Red-Hot Renovation
Too much and perhaps too late? Hotels around the globe are completing renovations just as travelers start to rethink their vacation plans. On the bright side, you will probably be staying in new rooms for less. This week we'll be looking at some of the new-old faces out there and telling you what these spiffed up joints will cost you. Any suggestions? Let us know.
The Millennium Bostonian has officially resurfaced from a $25 million renovation, adding on a brand new restaurant and bar and tweaking the lobby and guestroom spaces with major updates.
First up, the most heavily-promoted element of the newly-remodeled property is the new North 26 Restaurant and Bar, with a menu "that blends the old world with the new, promoting natural and sustainable cooking." The resto serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with seasonal outdoor seating and windows that open onto downtown Boston.

The Millennium Hotels Jingle-tini
It's the most wonderful time of the year! We love the holiday seasons because its when our alcohol problem gets overlooked all in the name of spreading cheer, peace on earth, Jesus was born on this day and blah blah blah. What better way can we celebrate this than by saddling up to a hotel bar and ordering one of their special Holiday Cocktails? We'll be taking a look at these concoctions all season long. If you have a suggestion, don't hold out on us.

The Millennium Hotels group is serving up their Millennium Jingle-tini at select hotels this holiday season. We already like the sound of that jingle bell rock, now here's what's inside:
2 oz. vodka
1/2 oz. White Crème de Menthe
1/2 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
1 splash grenadine for color.Pour ingredients into cocktail shaker and add crushed ice. Let stand for 5 seconds. Shake for 5 seconds. Strain mixture into martini glass and garnish with a peppermint candy cane.
The Jingle-tini is available at the Millennium Bostonian, the Millennium Knickerbocker in Chicago, the Millennium Biltmore in Los Angeles, The Millennium Hotel in Minneapolis, The Millennium Broadway and Millennium UN Plaza in New York and the Millennium McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale. Prices vary slightly depending on the city.

Hotels Near Times Square: Millennium Hotel Rooms Could Use A Makeover
Let's get this out of the way right up front--The Millennium Hotel Broadway is in dire need of a full blown room renovation. At least on the 18th floor where we ended up bunking for the night.
Televisions are old, and there is no wifi, only wired access from the desk (for a steep price we might add), but this place is a true hotel Monet. At first glance the room looks large and fine (for NYC standards), however if you take a close look at the carpets, the walls, and the bedding, you will quickly begin chanting "ren-o-vation".
The view from our room was semi-cool, if only because we were starting straight out at an architecturally interesting building that reminded us of something out of a Marvel comic book. On the plus side, check in, though crowded was a breeze, and the staff went out of their way to let us check in early.
This is one of the few hotels in NYC that can be had for right around $200. The Millennium is a staple on TravelZoo and Priceline. With taxes, you will end up paying right near $300/night all in.
