Loyalty Program News :: Loews Announces 'You First'
Where: United States
Loews has just launched a new no-BS loyalty program (to replace Loews First) that does exactly what any loyalty program should: reward guests for number of stays, plain and simple.
With the You First program, you can receive perks after your very first stay and the rewards range from free Internet and late checkout to upgrades and free rooms.
The system is pretty straightforward:
Member - 0-1 stays; Blue - 2-4 stays; Gold - 5-9 stays and Platinum - 10+ stays.
Benefits include American Express Membership Rewards points and partner discounts for all member categories; free room upgrades, late checkout, guaranteed availability, free access to property fitness centers, and free internet for Blue through Platinum members; VIP on-property amenities for Gold and Platinum members.
Also! You First members qualify for fun discounts with Loews' partners and you can score major price breaks on things like Fischer Price items and Fiji water. More details on the program can be found here.

Sometimes, Excessive Complaining Can Be a Good Thing

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Le Méridien Barcelona is one of the Spanish city's more popular hotels, mostly because of its location off the hotspot entertainment boulevard of La Rambla. (Well, perhaps at least until the W Barcelona debuts later this year.)
But the hotel has not been without its problems. When Starwood, which bought the Le Méridien brand in 2005, began assimilating its Starwood Preferred Guest loyalty program to the hotel chain, members complained that their status didn't seem to hold much weight in garnering upgrades at the hotel, noting that staff frequently said suites were not available, despite such rooms capable of being booked online.

HotelChatter's Guide to Loyalty Programs:: Wyndham By Request
Until recently we thought hotel loyalty programs were for Account Executives rolling their business travel points into a family vacation at a bland resort every year or two. However, funny thing happened when we started investigating these programs -- we found some of them are downright useful if you know how to cut through the red tape. This series is meant as a jumping off point to full fledged discussions on each loyalty program we feature. So comment, contribute, question, and cajole here.
The name of Wyndham Hotels loyalty program bothers us--Wyndham By Request. The name sort of implies that you have to ask for your rewards. But nevertheless, Wyndham has over 6,000 hotels so if you are a fan of Wyndham then you should have plenty of places to use your rewards.

Stay at Four Points, Earn 4,000 Points

In continuing with our Loyalty Program Guide we just stumbled across this offer from Starwood Preferred Guests program encouraging new members to stay at a Four Points.
Why? Because you can earn up to 4,000 points. According to this latest promotion:
Just stay four nights at any Four Points by Sheraton hotel worldwide now through November 18, 2007 and receive 4,000 Starpoints®.
If you're already an SPG members you can also register online to take advantage of the offer. That's pretty cool. We just wish we had four nights to kill at a Four Points somewhere.

Choice Hotels includes a variety of places to stay such as Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality Inn, Cambria Suites and EconoLodge. Their rewards program is the ChoicePrivileges program but luckily for you, the points you earn here can be used for more upscale resorts and hotels when you want to take a nice vacation.

Radisson Hotels is in the midst of completely overhauling their rewards program but the good news is that the new Goldpoints Plus will debut on October 28th so if you aren't a member yet, it won't be long to join the new program.
Some of the "enhancements" include earning more points and faster and redeeming more points at more properties and use your points at frequent flyer program.

Today we move on to Kimpton Hotels, which is actually one of the few small boutique chains to offer a loyalty program. But because this chain is small compared to Marriott, Starwood, Hilton, etc, the rewards are strictly kept within Kimpton and there are no outside partners.

The Fairmont Hotels is a luxury chain and it stresses that point with its rewards program, called the Fairmont President's Club. Guess they want you to feel like a President every time you stay.
However, the President's Club works differently than other rewards programs. For starters, there is no point system. Membership is complimentary but you only get perks when you stay at the hotels and the more hotels you stay at the better your perks are.
On the bright side, it only takes 10 stays or 30 nights to move you to Platinum status which Fairmont says is "faster than all other hotel loyalty programs."
