If hotel occupancy begins to plummet next fall, we might know who's to blame---the Fox TV show, American Horror Story. The creepy show has announced its "theme" for its next terrifying season, which will be "Hotel." (Last year's was "Freak Show.") And no, we don't think it will be about some fancy luxury hotel. It will be a straight-up haunted spot. Also, Lady Gaga plans on joining the cast.
Huffington Post reports that the show could be based on the famed Garden of Allah, a legendary hotel on Sunset Boulevard, which opened in 1927 and was pretty much the Chateau Marmont of Hollywood's Golden Age, where famous people went to get into trouble. (Coincidentally, Chateau is across the street.)
Today it's home to a bank, a McDonald's and a Subway but nearly a hundred years ago, it was just starting out as a hideaway for many actors and creative types like Marlene Dietrich, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Humphrey Bogart and Orson Welles.
The hotel was demolished in the late 1950s but you can still see a replica of its ground at Universal Studios in Orlando. That's where we snapped this shot.
No word on what type of character Lady Gaga will play but we don't think playing an eccentric, possibly possessed, hotel guest would be a stretch.
Just last week, fans of British boyband, One Direction, were lining up outside the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood hoping to get a glimpse of their teen idols. This week, another West Hollywood hotel is under siege from fans--The Chateau Marmont.
This was the holding area for Gaga's "Little Monsters" outside the hotel's valet entrance. As you can see, the Chateau is a pro at dealing with fan mobs and paparazzi crushes.
Gaga is staying over at Andre Balazs' super exclusive hideaway while she finishes up her new album. But her fans clearly already knew this as Twitter is littered with pap photos of Gaga leaving the hotel yesterday.
As for us, we didn't get to spend the night at Chateau (sigh) as it's entirely sold-out but we did manage to sneak in a quick breakfast meeting at their famed courtyard restaurant. Sadly, we had no Gaga or any other celeb sightings. Next time perhaps.

The past few Fantasy Friday's have been so completely downright dope and expensive that, at first, we pushed the $5,000 a night Villa Retreat at the Boulders Resort outside of Phoenix to the other side of the desk. We'd been talking $60,000 New Year's Eve packages and $20,000 diamond desserts, and $5,000 seemed a lot closer to reality than fantasy.
Well, guess what? We can't afford five grand a night any more than we can afford fifty grand, and if it's good enough for Lady Gaga, we suppose it's good enough for us.
The Villa Retreat is a Bali influenced five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath home situated amongst the boulder piles (dated at 12-million years old) on property, and floor to ceiling windows help take it all in. There's an infinity-edge pool, jacuzzi, fire pit, and two patios to go along with two kitchens, an elevator, a private driveway and a courtyard. Obviously, you get some service perks, including a butler. Oh, and on-property helicopter access should you need a quick getaway.

The perks of being a celebrity are numerous: restaurants fall over themselves to give you the best seat in the house, stylists are employed full-time to make you look fab, and you even get to show up unannounced at other people's fancy hotel weddings! What a life.
But once in a while, celebs like to give back. No, we're not talking about obscure charity foundations or flying to Africa to pose with schoolchildren.
We're talking about the stuff that matters. Like a Deluxe Room at London's The Dorchester.
According to ABC, Lady Gaga recently made friends with a UK couple who were hosting their wedding reception at the swank 5-star hotel. After speaking with them, and, apparently, liking them, she offered up a deluxe room at the hotel as a wedding gift. (Which, we should remind you, typically goes for around £475/night.)

Now that Lady Gaga has gone and upstaged the most famous hotel in all of Australia, the Park Hyatt Sydney, let's take a look at the super-swank Sydney Suite which she called home during her visit down under.
The suite was occupied--by someone other than Gaga--during our recent tour of the property, but we can show you these PR shots from the hotel. And if you click through our gallery, you'll also see our snaps of the Park Hyatt's Harbour Suite, not so shabby itself, and going for AU$5,500 a night this weekend.
We can tell you that Gaga's digs, the Sydney Suite, usually rents at $16,000 a night. Or, if you decide to rent it along with the two Rooftop Suites on the same level, to create a super A-list compound for yourself, the whole floor will set you back $50,000 a night.
We've got more coming up on the Sydney hotel scene later this week, but we thought we'd start Monday off with our favorite turqouise-haired hotel-hopping pop star. Lady Gaga showed up to the Park Hyatt Sydney on Saturday looking, well, pretty much exactly herself in a sparkly beaded floor-length gown with her underwear showing through, and a 1940s-inspired hairdo.
Normally, the views across Sydney Harbor are the hotel's biggest attraction, but Gaga managed to make it all about herself when she arrived by stopping to greet fans. Sure, she could have simply waved at them from her 1,000 square foot terrace attached to the Sydney Suite, but what would be the fun in that?
True story: last night we wandered around the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. Little did we know that we were sun set with Lady Gaga, who had arrived to the Ritz-Carlton just the day before, in order to prep for her "Born This Way Ball" performances later this week.
Naturally the Mother Monster's arrival had to be grandiose; Gaga turned out in a dress made of purple hair (her own hair extensions braided into it) and greeted fans at the main entrance to the hotel before heading up to a suite in the high altitudes.
We've previously peeked into one of the Ritz-Carlton's specialty suites, this one on the 116th floor, but we're guessing Lady Gaga is going even higher. Our money is on 118.
It's a bit of slow news day here (hotel-wise anyways, we know the rest of the world is mourning Davy Jones and reeling from the news of a mini-Snooki) so we decided to see what our favorite celeb guest was up to recently---Lady Gaga.
As it turns out, Mother Monster is in Boston today launching her Born This Way Foundation at Harvard. And last night, she tweeted about a special treat made for her by the hotel's chef:
The chef at hotel made me a surprise. So awesome to see the message spreading already. One cookie at a time.
While the cookies are cute (we dig the gold "glitter"), we were more interested in finding out where Lady Gaga is staying. While her hotel visits in Beantown in the past are varied--she has hit up the Ames and the Nine Zero before, it looks like she might be staying at the Ritz-Carlton Boston Common this time around. (If this tweet from a super fan is to be believed.)
In the ever-expanding universe of Twitter, there is one particular trend @HotelChatter happens to quite enjoy: candid hotel photos. These Twitpics range from stunning views to anti-views to celebrity tomfoolery and everything in between. And we can't get enough of 'em! Every Monday, we will feature one "Twitpic of the Week" to commemorate our favorite hotel-themed snapshot. Got a favorite of your own? Want to show off your sweet suite? Send it in!
On Friday, Lady Gaga mega-fan @hausofrobert shared this Twitpic of Gaga leaving her London hotel—mermaid parasol, anvil earrings, gem-encrusted nails and all. Quite the vision! But it was what photographers caught Gaga doing as she made her way through the exit that made Twitter-ers all over the world sit up and pay attention.
And the East Asia Gaga whirlwind continues! After wrapping things up over the weekend in Taiwan, Lady Gaga has drifted south to Singapore, where fans reportedly lined the lobby hallways of the Marina Bay Sands. The $5.4 billion, three-towered, "culinary epicenter of Asia" hosted Gaga's entire entourage—and a dutiful tweeter by the name of @gagaindonesia was there to witness it all.
Gaga was scheduled to arrive at the hotel last night, and an hour after her first sighting, @gagaindonesia made the hearts of Singapore's Little Monsters flutter by pinpointing her room on the 51st floor of Tower 2. In the meantime, photos of her sound equipment and her backup dancers simply had to suffice.
Let them eat burgers
It must have been a difficult request for the hotel to accommodate. On Friday afternoon, hundreds of fans waited outside the Regent Taipei for the arrival of their queen, Lady Gaga. And though the Turquoise-Haired One managed to enter the hotel unseen, she made it clear that her commitment to her fans is as strong as ever.
Hours after she arrived, hotel staffers were instructed to deliver 100 burger-and-fries combos to the crowd waiting downstairs. Not every hotel is equipped with their own hidden hotel burger shop, so we're guessing some bellhops had to dash to a local fast food chain. But it sure beat Lady Gaga having to maneuver around the hotel in those mile-high platforms!
Lady Gaga recently stepped out of the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome with a new tri-colored beehive that has everyone buzzing.
The "Born This Way" singer is staying at the Paris hotel for the Cannes Film Festival, where she will perform on French television show Le Grand Journal. Unfortunately, while Gaga remembered to bring her cape, she must have forgotten to pack some shirts. Maybe the hotel can help her out with that.
