Karl Lagerfeld Will Design The New So Singapore
We've seen rooms designed by Bottega Veneta and DVF, even namesake hotels from Ferragamo and Versace, but now Karl Lagerfeld has once again been asked to transform a hotel, this time it'll be the new So Singapore.
The artist, designer, photographer, director and illustrator has turned his creative sights on the 19th century building that Sofitel plans to transform into their boutique brand, and apparently a fashion plate. The theme that the hotel is, rightfully bragging about encompasses native Singaporean flora and fauna while mixing the historical Napoleonic-era design with contemporary style. If all goes well, guests will be able to stay in the fruits of fashion by the middle of the year.
But what's Karl got to do with it? Read on to find out!

Karl Lagerfeld Gets His Gloves On Monte Carlo's Hôtel Métropole
The ever-opinionated Karl Lagerfeld is once again slapping his signature stamp on a hotel.
This time, the Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo has been graced with the designer’s over-the-top touch. A few spaces are been redesigned in the 19th-century Belle Époque property including the pool, terrace and gardens. One part has already been Lagerfeld-ized with 15 fresco-style etched-glass and backlit panels that recount Ulysess’ Voyages.
We also hear from the Telegraph there are some frescoes of Baptiste Giabiconi, the designer's favorite male model, in which he’s portrayed as a Greek god. Oh, lawd. It’s every bit as bananas as you’d expect from a man who made a Paris hotel suite with a chocolate model in it. (See below.)

Karl Lagerfeld Booked the Entire Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in the Name of Chanel
If there's one hotel in the world which best encapsulates the Chanel brand, it's the Cote d'Azur's Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc. Fittingly then, Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld booked up the entire historical property for the last several days or more to get his Chanel Resort 2012 collection finalized and presentedusing most of the world's top models of the momentto fashion editors, celebrities and starlets.
The hotel itself, which ranks among the most expensive and elite hotels in the world, just emerged from a complete two-year renovation in April, just in time for Karl to properly turn the promenade into a runway and re-introduce the Hotel du Cap to the world. The collection, meanwhile, was all society and old money; lemon skirt suits began a show inspired by the style of Rita Hayworth and Aly Khan; it included 5-star-appropriate bathing suits, relaxed navy crepe dresses and dramatic, flowing evening wear. The more fashion-forward items you likely won't be seeing on many Chanel-buying bathing beauties are midriff-baring tweed sets and white leather thong sandals-boots.

The Case of the Karl Lagerfeld-designed Hotel Room Made of Chocolate
This is the photo setting the web on fire today, as legend-status fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld stands inside of a hotel room made entirely of chocolate, including a model painted with the sweet stuff. Lagerfeld has been working with the European ice cream company Magnum, and so far they've produced a short video with Rachel Bilson (watch it here) and thisthe chocolate hotel room at an unnamed hotel in Paris.
No, you can't sleep in it. OMGhow cool would it be to stay here, though? Just to lay on the bed and lick it, or take a bite of the chair armrest? This is the stuff of drug-influenced dreams right here.

Trust Karl Lagerfeld to Toast Nude Models at the Ritz-Carlton Moscow
Moscow in December wouldn't exactly be our first choice for a giant fashion party celebrating photographs of nude models, but then we aren't Karl Lagerfeld. The stiff-collared fashion designer held court at the Ritz-Carlton Moscow earlier this week while promoting one of his other talents: photography. Lagerfeld again shot the Pirelli Calendar, his 2011 edition of which features more nudes than ever, including actress Julianne Moore.
So why Moscow? Pirelli is an Italian tire company, the calendar's theme is Greek Mythology, and the stars of the photographs are of an international assortment. Hmm...perhaps it was all just a great excuse to wear the giant Yeti-like fur coats that Lagerfeld designed for Chanel's Fall/Winter 2010 collection? The temperature outside did hover slightly above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, after all.

Karl Lagerfeld Is Designing Hotels...On His Own Fashion Island, Of Course

Feast your eyes on Fashion Island! No sign of Posh Spice, as was the early rumor, but Karl Lagerfeld? He's all over it. Of course. It's a man-made island with luxury boutiques, 150 villas and three highest-of-the-high-end hotels.
The fashion blogosphere is in a lather over this news, as you can imagine, and we're also pretty damn excited about seeing what Uncle Karl has in store for us hotel-wise. After all, you know he's going to want to blow Armani Hotels and Missoni Hotels out of the water.

Karl Lagerfeld and His Mountain of Luggage Leave The Mercer Hotel

The Daily Mail asks,"Why does Karl Lagerfeld need so much luggage when he wears the same thing all the time?" A valid question, to be sure. But what we want to know is: How much did The Karl tip the bellhops at The Mercer after they carted his 14 pieces of exquisite luggage out of the hotel into a waiting black van this week? What's the equation again? Two bucks a bag?
We're not sure which room Karl stayed in during his visit to The Mercer, but it had to be one of the suites in the $3,000 a night range, no? The ones with French doors?

Would You Stay in The Posh Spice Hotel?

Well, move over Marc Jacobs. It looks like dubious fashion designer, former Spice girl and ultimate WAG priestess Victoria Beckham might beat you in designing a fashion hotel first.
According to reports swirling about today, Posh Spice has been offered $40 million to design a fashion-themed hotel in Dubai on Isla Moda. Yes, $40 mill for Posh Spice-influenced design. Guess there's still money to be had in Dubai afterall.
However, Posh can't be trusted to design a hotel by herself otherwise we'd probably just end up with rooms inspired by platform Louboutins and Hermes bags. No, no, no. The word is that iconic Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfeld, will be brought on to help her out.
Despite how silly this idea is, we sorta hope this hotel happens but with more Uncle Karl involved than VB. The word is Victoria is still mulling the offer. She better act quick. Someone may offer Lindsay Lohan money to create a fashion-leggings hotel in Dubai instead.
