When in Rome, Do as Josh Flagg Does and Stay at Hotel Eden

Our resident celebrity hotel hopper, Josh Flagg is about to invade your living rooms again when the fifth season of Million Dollar Listing premieres on Bravo on June 6. But life isn't all "house" work for Josh. As soon as filming finished, he packed up and resumed his whirlwind travels. Here's where he prefers to stay in Rome.

I must have stayed in Rome at least a half dozen times over the course of my short-lived life, however i have never really found an extraordinary hotel. The Hassler was nice...fifteen years ago. The St Regis is beautiful...if you don't mind using a flashlight when going out at night.

But I've now found a new favorite--Hotel Eden, a Le Meridien Hotel.

A block from Via Condoti and a block from Via Veneto, it is in the perfect location. The hotel exudes luxury and just the right amount of charm. The views are extraordinary and the staff is extremely nice and not snooty like at most of the other five star hotels in Rome. If I had my own star-rating system, I'd give the hotel five stars but the views, six stars.

Heading to Rome this summer and want to take up Josh's recommendation? The Hotel Eden's rates start at around 400 Euros a night. If you stay there, let us know how it went!

Here's what he thought of the Montage Deer Valley.

Back in March, I had the pleasure of staying at the Montage Deer Valley. It was one of the best ski-in, ski-out hotels I have ever stayed at.

Not only does the hotel have it's own in-house pooch, Monty (short for Montage) and heated outdoor swimming pool, but they also have a firepit blazing everyday from 4 to 5pm a fire pit where all the rich people get together and make s'mores. It's the only place I know where people paying $700 a night for a room get together to roast marshmallows!

The hotel also features it's own bowling alley (see the photo below.) Needless to say, this is a must-stay for a winter getaway.

You can read more on the Montage's indoor bowling alley and Daly's Pub right here!

Way Up High at the Four Seasons Hotel in London, There's a Putting Green

Once again, our favorite celebrity hotel hopper,Josh Flagg is filling us in on places we'd only dream about staying. Today he reports on the most unusual find at the Four Seasons Park Lane in London.

During my stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Park Lane in London this New Years, I was greatly surprised when I opened the drapes of my terrace and there on my balcony was a putting green. Not only this, but the suite was absolutely drop dead gorgeous.

Pierre Yves Rochon, who also designed the George V in Paris and the Four Seasons Florence headed up the renovation of this hotel which is in my opinion now the best hotel in London, far surpassing the Dorchester! As an avid, but very bad golfer, I was more than happy to putt on "my" green, even if the temperature was 40 degrees outside.

Josh Flagg Updates Us on the Status of the Four Seasons George V (Sorta)

Once again, our favorite celebrity hotel hopper, Josh Flagg is back from yet another whirlwind of hotel adventures. First up, he reports on the renovations happening at Four Seasons George V in Paris. Except, he actually stayed in a far nicer room.

I must say, I was extremely delighted when I stayed at the George V this Christmas. The hotel has started the floor by floor renovation of its guestrooms and suites and they are even better than the last renovation in 2000. The rooms have got a new fluff with brand new modern amenities and have maintained all that was already so great about these rooms.

It's no secret that our celebrity hotel hopper, Josh Flagg, has a bit of thing for Four Seasons Hotels but today's Flagged hotel review is actually not about the rooms or the restaurant or the pool at the Four Seasons Los Angeles but rather the flowers which are all painstakingly selected by the hotel's owner, Robert Cohen. And Cohen is especially particular about his succulents.

On one of his frequent visits to the hotel, Josh got some time to talk with Robert about his passion for flowers. Take it away Josh!

Josh Flagg's Killer View in Costa Rica at (Where Else?) The Four Seasons

The other week, we dropped in some killer views from Las Vegas. This week, our own Eloise, Josh Flagg drops in one of his favorite killer views from, where else?, a Four Seasons hotel. This time he left the wilds of Beverly Hills and roughed it in Costa Rica. But you know, not too rough.

Now maybe I am overly fascinated by this, but at my recent stay in the Four Seasons Costa Rica, two things caught my attention. The first was that every floor had a washing and drying machine for hotel guests. Instead of waiting all day to have the hotel do your laundry for you (at $80 for a pair of underwear, mind you), you can walk to steps down the hall and just throw your things in the washing machine.

I have never seen this before in a luxury hotel and I must say, I loved being able to throw my socks and underwear in and have them clean before dinner.

The second thing I loved about this Four Seasons was that I could sleep on my terrace or shall I say, my outdoor room.

Our own Eloise, Josh Flagg recently took a trip down to Virginia where he made friends with a very interesting hotel restaurant"employee." Read on to find out more!

Have you ever met a cow by the name of Faira who serves you cheese table-side? Well I have!

If you visit the uber-chic Inn at Little Wahington (which incidentally is not in Washington D.C., but in Virgina), you will have one of the best meals of your life in this quaint hotel.

The Inn at Little Washington is basically in the middle of nowhere. Driving there, I was sure I had made a wrong turn. Amongst all the goats and tractors, and old abandoned barns, I was sure I was not on my way to a Relais & Chateaux five-diamond resort but alas, all of a sudden, there it was!

That's because he was staying inside the totally awesome 727 Fuselage Suite at Costa Verde in Costa Rica. Here's what he said of the high-flying experience:

Putting on The Ritz or Putting on The Shi*z in Paris?

Where: Paris, France
July 7, 2011 at 10:35 AM | by | Comments (5)

Our own Eloise, Josh Flagg returns to pit two of Paris' best luxury hotels against one another. Read on to see which hotel is the victor!

So let's talk Paris. I don't know any other city in the world other than New York, which has as many options for luxury hotels and properties. On the right bank alone, you can choose from The Four Seasons (George V), The Crillion, The Ritz, The Mandarin Oriental, The Plaza-Athenee and Le Meurice.

The latter two are both apart of the Dorchester group, so you can be assured you will be staying in style. The Dorchester group (owned by the Sultan of Brunei) is the parent company of some of my favorite other properties such as the Hotel Bel Air (re-opening in October), The Beverly Hills Hotel, The Principie de Savoia in Milan as well as the uber chic Grande Dame, The Dorchester in London. While you can not go wrong with any Dorchester group property in Paris, there still is better.

How Josh Flagg Works It for a Room Upgrade

June 21, 2011 at 3:54 PM | by | Comments (8)

Our own Eloise, Josh Flagg returns to divulge one of his closely-guarded hotel booking tips. While Amex is his main booking MO, this is a good tip to try on a lark but especially when you book packages that say, "Upgrade if available." Enjoy!

Do you ever feel as I do, that when you check into a hotel, you get the run around? Let me explain what I mean.

If you are an American Express platinum or Black card holder, or even if you are a Centurion card holder, there are certain advantages you get when booking through Amex's Fine Hotels and Resorts. For one, you get complimentary breakfast. Two, you get an added amenity with the hotel such as a massage or a facial or maybe a dining credit. But most important is number three and this is what matters most to me.

Say you are traveling and you book a one-bedroom suite. Assuming the occupancy in the hotel is not at 100 percent, then the hotel will upgrade you to a larger suite, just for booking through Amex. Sometimes, they will even upgrade you to a two-bedroom suite!

The same goes for a standard room. If you book a nice room, they will upgrade you to a junior suite, or if you book a not so nice room, they will upgrade you to a nice one.

Usually you will pay a little bit of a higher rate when you book through American Express Platinum or Centurion, however the added benefits make it well worth it.

Josh Flagg Staycations at the Four Seasons Los Angeles

Once again, Million Dollar Lister Josh Flagg is back, allowing us a peek inside the hotel lifestyles of the rich and famous. Since we'd never be able to afford a penthouse suite, we'll leave it to Josh to give us his nuanced review of these upper echelon hotel rooms. We like to think of him as our very own Eloise--except you know, he's a grown man. Enjoy!

The other weekend I was given the opportunity to "get out of town." And by out of town, I mean away from my home on Avenue of the Stars in Century City and into a suite at the Four Seasons Los Angeles.

So at eleven in the morning, the hotel picked up me and my partner, Colton, in their Phantom Rolls and took us and Godzilla (our dog) to the hotel. The complimentary car takes you anywhere around the vicinity of the hotel within a two mile radius. There was even a dog bed for Godzilla in the car which was great because she was wondering where she would be sitting.

When we arrived at the hotel, I suddenly felt like I was in Paris. I guess they use the same fragrance in the lobby as they do at the George V. Whatever it is, I was immediately in a good mood.

When I checked in, a friendly gentleman handed me a fancy little felt pouch and inside were my room keys. I usually get my room keys in an envelope (Ed. Note: You do? We never have.) so I thought this was a very nice touch. I didn't take much luggage with me since it was only a weekend trip and I told the bell hop I did not want any help with my one bag.
