To start your week off right, here's a shot of one very pregnant pop star making her way out of a downtown NYC hotel that happens to be very popular with the celebrities. Beyonce, in town to promote her new fragrance, Beyonce Pulse, wore her golden hair back in a bun, along with some chunky gold hoop earrings and bright red lipstick. Not exactly another hotel fashion shoot, but she was certainly as ready for the cameras as they were for her.

They must be something doing something right at the Gansevoort Park to attract such a steady flow of high-profile guests. Just last month, it was Kim Kardashian who made headlines when she and hubby Kris Humphries moved into the hotel's $7000-a-night penthouse.

And one month earlier, we recognized that black-and-white checkered lobby in photos of Rihanna en route to her show in New Jersey. What next, a Lady Gaga jacuzzi meltdown?

It is reported that Jay-Z blew $250,000 on champagne for his Watch the Throne release party. And $50,000 in tips at Scarpetta, where he noshed on posh Italian with his entourage. We shudder to think what kind of numbers were on his room folio.

Jay-Z and Beyonce Run the World From Atop Le Meurice

Beyonce and Jay-Z are living large at Hotel Le Meurice. The married couple are shacked up in a penthouse suite overlooking the Tuileries Garden for an eye-popping $20,000 a night. Beyonce better get on selling her new single, "Run the World (Girls)."

So what does $20,000 a night buy you? You get the two-story Belle Etoile suite with a private elevator, kitchen, glass-enclosed dining room and large private terrace at the beautiful Paris hotel. Le Meurice is one of Beyonce's faves, and it seems to be the hotel of choice for other hip-hop elite, with such fans as Eminem and Kanye West.

Wanna Party with Jay-Z and Coldplay on New Year's Eve? Here's How

We here at both HotelChatter and VegasChatter are totally buggin' over the forthcoming Cosmopolitan Resort and Casino which is set to open in Las Vegas on December 15. The resort will have 2,995 hotel rooms, a casino, a sexy pool complex, a Sahra spa and a mouth-watering selection of the best restaurants.

While the hotel opens to visitors on the 15th, the real party goes off on New Year's Eve which will double as the hotel's official grand opening party with Jay-Z and Coldplay expected to perform. Last week, when VegasChatter checked rooms for New Year's Eve, the hotel was sold-out. But we got word that a limited number of New Year's Eve packages are now up for sale.

The packages went online at midnight and there are only 125 left. Here's what they include:

Staying in a New York hotel with prime star-spotting opportunities usually means forking out celeb-level cash, but last week guests at the humble Ameritania Hotel got a surprise front-row seat for a show by Jay-Z and Eminem.

The pair appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman on Friday night, and filmed the spot earlier in the week on the roof of the Ed Sullivan Theater. Despite being a modest 'boutique dorm', the Ameritania shares the roof that hosted the two rappers—and the hotel's owner decided to throw a small party to celebrate the occasion.

Beyonce and Jay-Z Not Afraid to Go Budget at UK's Premier Inn

We might balk at staying at a Premier Inn in the UK, given the state of UK's budget brands, but it's apparently all right with Beyonce and Jay-Z. News of the World reports that the famous duo stayed in a Premier Inn, whose rooms go as low as £29 a night, when Jay-Z performed at the Isle of Wight music festival over the weekend. AND they even reportedly skipped a specially-prepared meal, opting to eat at a nearby Pizza Hut instead. Jigga-what?

That said, we can't blame them for choosing Premier Inn. The brand not only has low rates but also modern amenities like king-sized beds, flat-screen TVs, black-out shades and WiFi, although that's not free.

Ok, yeah, this isn't working. We tried to make sense of this but we can't. Why Beyonce and Jay-Z would stay here is beyond us. Maybe News of the World has it wrong. Anyone else who can verify a B and Hova appearance at Premier Inn, let us know.

Celebrities are known for demanding the very best (and bringing out the very worst) in hotels around the world. This week we’ve been uncovering a few of the most outrageous requests divas like J-Lo and Justin Timberlake have made during recent hotel stays.

So it only makes sense that some of these needy nabobs think they can go into the hotel business for themselves. And sure, sometimes it works out (see Gloria Estefan below). But other times? Not so much (see Jay-Z).

We thought it would be interesting to update our Celebrity Hotel Report Card. Especially given the news that set the blogosphere atwitter last week: that Posh Spice was offered $40 million to design a hotel in Dubai!

Jay-Z Does Some Big Pimpin' at Casa de Campo for His 40th Birthday

We’re getting slightly jealous bored of these celeb-filled hotel launch parties at the moment, but we also like our lodgings to come with a little sprinkling of stardust. Luckily, Beyoncé has helped us out this week with the bash she threw at the weekend in honour of Jay Z’s 40th birthday.

She flew 50 of his mates (including Diddy, Oprah, Kate Hudson and A-Rod, Kanye and Amber Rose and Alicia Keys) out on private jets to the Casa de Campo resort in the Dominican Republic.

The theme was old-style gangster. There were two dance floors. There were fireworks. There was Alicia duetting with the birthday boy. There were even synchronized swimmers.

40/40 Club at the Palazzo Gets Replaced By Plain Old Sports Book

Ok, so here's something we just don't understand. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, 50% of Jay Z's 40/40 Club Las Vegas inside the Palazzo was bought out by the hotel-casino's owner, Las Vegas Sands. In return, LVS closed the 40/40 Club at the Palazzo and replaced it with a sports book.

The Las Vegas 40/40 Club was rumored to be closing for months, even though it opened only eight months ago. But apparently this deal will allow the 40/40 Club to expand internationally, with the first location being in one of LVS's Macau Casinos as well as in London.

Wait, back up. So even though 40/40 crapped out in Las Vegas, it will somehow do better in Macau? Hmm...We say, 40/40 and LVS better do some serious market research before opening that bad boy.

Palazzo Las Vegas is Kind of a Bust

Over the weekend, we managed to walk around the newly opened Palazzo Las Vegas and to be honest, we weren't blown away but what we saw.

Granted, it's still the first few days of opening but the place was dead. We can't ever recall being in such a dead gambling hall before. On a Friday night. At 11pm. However, as soon as you walked over to the Venetian's main gambling floor, things were popping again. Maybe the folks in there just didn't know about the Palazzo yet.

We also popped into Jay-Z's club 40/40 and the same could be said there. The club has a great lay-out and plays killer hip-hop music, although we could do without the giant screen playing non-stop ESPN. Still, the place wasn't even half-full while Tao at the Venetian was horrendously crowded (thanks to a party for porn star Brianna Banks.)

Hopefully, the Palazzo's opening weekend this weekend will be more crowded than what we saw.

Palazzo Las Vegas Opens Some Public Spaces Including Jay-Z's Club But Rooms Aren't Yet Ready

While the Palazzo Las Vegas had initially hoped to open on Dec. 20th, it settled for opening up some of its casino space, the lobby and an atrium linking the new hotel with the next-door Venetian.

According to Globe Street, rooms will open on Jan. 6th but there isn't any availability until Jan. 9th with rooms going for around $200. The full grand-opening is still set for Jan. 17th. Our reservation is for Jan. 10th so let's hope the the rooms are open by then.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for a new place to party on the strip, Jay-Z's 40/40 Club did open over New Year's Eve weekend, despite reports that the place failed inspection and didn't have proper permits.

Whatever shizz went down, peeps came out in full force to celebrate the opening which just happened to also be LeBron James' b-day. The club is actually an upscale sports bar which features 85 plasma screen TV's, 5 exclusive VIP rooms, and 24kt gold and platinum floors. Pimp!

If Jay-Z's got 99 problems, then opening a club in Las Vegas is not one of them anymore.

Jay-Z To Open J Hotel in NYC

We should have added this to our 2008 New York City Hotel Openings Preview story from this morning. Apparently, rapper/hip-hopper/mogul Jay-Z (aka Shawn Carter) wants to be a hotelier.

The Jigga man and some developers have bought a property in NYC at 510 West 22nd St. for his first hotel of many to be called J Hotels.

Currently the site is occupied by a five-story, 88,000-square foot warehouse and parking facility net leased to Time Warner Cable, Inc., which will vacate the premises.

The developers on the project are Charlie Blaichman and Abe Shnay of SK Development and CB Developers. The deal totaled about $66 million (including air rights)and we're guessing they are going to plunk down some more to actually build the hotel. So we predict a 2009/2010 opening.

As for the hotel, Jay-Z intends for it to be an upscale five-star 150,000-square-foot luxury hotel. We bet a 40/40 club, a Roc-a-wear store and a suite designed by Beyonce will be included.
