We always love a good turndown here at HotelChatter, particularly the over the top ones found at luxury hotels where they turn down the lights, close the blinds, fold back the sheets, lay out a soft linen on the floor next to the bed, place mints and bottled water on the nightstand and position slippers properly so that upon waking you can swing your legs over the side of the bed and slip your feet into them with no fuss.
But at 60 Thompson the other night we were pleasantly surprised not so much by the skill of the turndown but simply by the two small brownies from local shop, Fat Witch Bakery, placed on the bed, next to a breakfast room service menu. Yum yum.
The turndown did include softened lights, two bottled waters on the nightstand and folded back sheets but we had to hunt for the slippers in the closet. Still, there's something so forgiving about a brownie before bedtime.
We snagged a room at 60 Thompson, thanks to HotelTonight for about $363. Yup, you read that right. We told you rates in NYC have been crazy recently. However, rates do fluctuate so if you're flex with your dates you too can enjoy Fat Witch brownies in bed at 60T for well under $300 a night.
