Four Seasons San Francisco Now Has a Nissan LEAF Available for Guests

San Francisco's a pretty green town but when the U.S. Open golf tournament comes to town on June 11, the place will get even greener. And if you happen to be staying at the Four Seasons San Francisco, you just might be the greenest of them all thanks to the Nissan Leaf that's available for you to rent.
Booking the hotel's new Nissan LEAF package will get you a room at the hotel, two tickets to the California Academy of Arts and Sciences, breakfast for two at the Seasons restaurants and complimentary rental of the Nissan LEAF. If you're not familiar with the LEAF, it's a completely electric vehicle which uses no gasoline and can go about a 100 miles on a single charge. And thanks to the LEAF, The Four Seasons is now the city's first and only hotel to have an electric vehicle rental program as well as charging station.

Four Seasons Pudong Now Looking to Open on September 1

Last week, we showed you the view we had over lunch at the Park Hyatt Shanghai towards the Oriental Pearl Tower and Huangpu river. Looking down the other side, we spotted none other than the upcoming Four Seasons Pudong, which we talked about only two weeks ago.
While 55 stories high, the building is dwarfed by the World Financial Center (which houses the Park Hyatt on floors 79-93), as well as various other buildings nearby. At the same time, just across the street you will find remnants of a different Pudong before all the skyscrapers arrived, as you can see in the pictures.
The entrance is still wrapped up (we would guess the picture of the circular driveway is for the residences, but we could be wrong about that), the building looks pretty much finished, so we think the projected late August opening should be feasible. We saw ads for the residences, called Four Seasons Place, all over Shanghai.
Reservations at the hotel are accepted for arrival from September 1st as per the hotel website, moved up from September 17 only a week ago.

Shanghai's Second Four Seasons Will Be A 'Gem,' Set For Late August Opening

After debuting in China exactly ten years ago, Four Seasons is ready to make an encore performance. Four Seasons Pudong Shanghai, the city's second Four Seasons hotel, will open on the Pudong side of the river, just a few miles from the original Four Seasons Shanghai in the central Puxi district.
Sitting high in a newly-built 55-story tower, the 187-room hotel will offer luxe private dining rooms, a 1920s Art Deco design, an Executive Club Lounge and an entire floor devoted to a health club, spa, and infinity pool. The gleaming glass tower also houses Ferrari Maserati and 73 Four Seasons private residences—which is just about as luxury as you can get. No wonder locals have nicknamed this place the "jewel box."

Mining The Treasure Trove Of New Hotels In Lower Manhattan

It doesn't take much to get us excited about a new hotel opening. Back in March when we learned that Thompson (and not Ace) would be opening up a 297-room hotel at Manhattan's historic 5 Beekman Street, we thought our hotel hunger was sated for the time being. But the excitement doesn't end there—as shown by an interactive map of new downtown hotels, published yesterday by neighborhood blog Tribeca Citizen.
The map, which blows our mind a little, counts no less than nineteen new or ongoing hotel construction projects below Canal St; and that's in addition to the ten recently opened downtown hotels like W New York Downtown, Smyth Tribeca and Conrad New York.
Here's a few of the upcoming hotels that caught our eye...

The Four Seasons Palm Beach is Serving Up the Ultimate BLT
It’s a smorgasbord of choices that lets you craft your ultimate BLT.
Now, we don’t usually get so excited about the normally plain Jane BLT sandwich, but this ain’t your momma’s BLT.
In celebration of Florida’s tomato season, the Four Seasons Palm Beach Resort is picking heirloom tomatoes from its very own chef’s garden and offering them up in this classic sandwich, turning a garden-variety lunch item into a gourmand’s delight.

Porcelain Books, Lenticular Art and Coin Sculptures? Toto, We’re Not in a Hotel Lobby Anymore

Ever since the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago rebranded and reopened its lobby and resto space this February, the new restaurant Allium has been getting a lot of buzz. We stopped by to see it out for ourselves and venturing out of the elevator, were stopped by something else: the gorgeous entry that felt every bit a private art collector’s gallery.
Dramatically, big paintings hung across the walls from each other, coin-melded sculptures called from the corners, flower arrangements brightened a table in the center. Had we taken a wrong turn? Where was the front desk? The concierge? Was this even the lobby?
Turns out we were right where we were suppose to be, right in the Four Seasons new hotel lobby, which is suppose to be every bit about art. We spied the registration desk and concierge to the right and more spacious, art-filled rooms flowing beyond it and very much like a museum, only more posh and comfortable.

Keep The Memory Of Four Seasons Toronto Alive By Signing Their E-Guestbook

Don't worry, Four Seasons Toronto isn't being completely obliterated; it's just moving two blocks over to a new 55-story building on Yorkville Ave. The new location is scheduled to open this summer, but in the meantime, Four Seasons is hellbent on capturing a bit of the nostalgia now felt by guests who have stayed at the old property over the years.
In order to do this, the hotel has set up (what else?) an e-guestbook on Facebook. First, users must "like" Four Seasons Toronto's Facebook page, then, they're granted access to the Four Seasons Toronto Memory Book, a compendium of warm, fuzzy memories ranging from engagements to Bar Mitzvahs to the Toronto International Film Festival. Though our favorite had to be the person who fondly recalled "waiting for the elevator."

This is What Larry Flynt Eats at Culina at the Four Seasons Los Angeles
Hustler publisher Larry Flynt is still a man about town, the town of Beverly Hills that is, and it's not uncommon to see him in the city's finest establishments here and there.
But the other day we experienced something quite unusual at Culina at the Four Seasons Los Angeles. When we walked in we noticed Mr. Flynt at a large table in the center of the room and thought, "Cool. Celeb sighting." But when we sat down and looked at the menu, we saw another surprise on the menu: Larry Flynt's Salad.
Apparently, Flynt dines at Culina so often they named a salad after him. It includes: dungeness crab, shrimp, diced cucumber, tomato, carrots, asparagus, red pepper, garbanzo beans, watercress, sieved hard boiled egg and topped with chianti vinaigrette.
Interestly, it's only the second most expensive salad on the menu at $27. The Insalata RC (named after the hotel's owner, Robert Cohen) is the most expensive at $29 and which includes prawns and Maine lobster.
Sigh...one day we'll have a hotel salad named after us too. One day....

Way Up High at the Four Seasons Hotel in London, There's a Putting Green

Once again, our favorite celebrity hotel hopper,Josh Flagg is filling us in on places we'd only dream about staying. Today he reports on the most unusual find at the Four Seasons Park Lane in London.
During my stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Park Lane in London this New Years, I was greatly surprised when I opened the drapes of my terrace and there on my balcony was a putting green. Not only this, but the suite was absolutely drop dead gorgeous.
Pierre Yves Rochon, who also designed the George V in Paris and the Four Seasons Florence headed up the renovation of this hotel which is in my opinion now the best hotel in London, far surpassing the Dorchester! As an avid, but very bad golfer, I was more than happy to putt on "my" green, even if the temperature was 40 degrees outside.

Where To Eat Pancakes in Hotels For National Pancake Day

Yup, today is National Pancake Day—always kinda sneaks up on ya, doesn't it?
In an effort to raise awareness for Children's Miracle hospitals, IHOP is offering a free short stack to every customer that walks into the restaurant today. Which is awesome. But, at the same time, it's IHOP, and we like to think our palates are slightly more refined.
Instead, consider a pancake breakfast at a hotel today. Not a guest? Not a problem. These hotel restaurants are all open and accessible to non-guests—trust us, the food is so good, they're worth the trip. And yes, we've managed to come up with more suggestions than just the pancake machines at Holiday Inn Express hotels. If we wanted to make our own, we'd just have stayed at home!

Josh Flagg Updates Us on the Status of the Four Seasons George V (Sorta)
Once again, our favorite celebrity hotel hopper, Josh Flagg is back from yet another whirlwind of hotel adventures. First up, he reports on the renovations happening at Four Seasons George V in Paris. Except, he actually stayed in a far nicer room.
I must say, I was extremely delighted when I stayed at the George V this Christmas. The hotel has started the floor by floor renovation of its guestrooms and suites and they are even better than the last renovation in 2000. The rooms have got a new fluff with brand new modern amenities and have maintained all that was already so great about these rooms.

A Quick Look at Some Cool Hotel Designs Coming in 2012

Remember the guys who brought you the sperm-shaped urinals at Trump Panama? Well, in the spirit of our recently-launched (and super hot topic-y) 2012 Master List of Hotel Openings, we were a little curious to see what else the design wizards at HBA had cooking on the stove.
Though their total project list spans 21 properties, a few in particular stand out: Four Seasons Guangzhou, Park Hyatt Hyderabad, Sheraton Fuzhou, and Waldorf-Astoria Ras Al Khaimah are all places we'll be keeping a close eye on as they gear up for their respective 2012 grand openings. We love nothing more than unique, well-executed, culturally-relevant design, and these places have it all.
Though we can't quite make out the white sculpture at the far end of Park Hyatt Hyderabad's atrium (above)—some sort of cat? or god?—we love the scale of those high black marble columns and curvy chandelier over the low rounded bench below. Proving, once and for all, you don't need urinals with tails to really make a lobby pop.
