Wolfgang Puck Gets Fresh at The Hotel Bel-Air
Wolfgang Puck is either drinking a lot of red bull these days or he has clones of himself running around the world from one top luxury hotel to the next launching new hotel restaurant concepts.
Fresh off the opening of his CUT Steakhouse at 45 Park Lane, Wolfgang was back in LA to open to his new restaurant at the newly glamorous Hotel Bel-Air. But it's not just one restaurant Wolfgang is running here, it's the entire food and beverage operations.
Anytime you order an appetizer, an entree, dessert or even a late-night snack from room service during your stay at the Bel-Air, Wolfgang has put his hands on it. Ok, well not exactly as he won't always be in the kitchen but it's his culinary vision that's being executed. And a huge part of that vision is freshness.
We went into the kitchen at the Hotel Bel-Air with Wolfgang where he showed us that day's haul from the farmer's market. He's a stickler about having everything as fresh as can be, even to the point where he will ask if the oranges can stay on the tree a little longer. So when you get a fresh fruit basket in your room upon arrival, you can sleep soundly knowing that it's some seriously fresh fruit.

Why You Should Stay at The Hotel Bel-Air on Opening Night

UPDATE: The hotel is TOTALLY SOLD OUT for the first two weeks. Arrggh. There is a waitlist available and we suggest you get on it if you want to taste some Wolfgang Puck before the rest of the world. Fingers crossed someone drops out!
We can't believe this day is almost near. The Hotel Bel-Air, which closed two years ago for a massive renovation, will be reopening on October 14.
If you're one of the longtime fans of the hotel (and there are many) who can't wait to sleep inside the new rooms, then you probably already booked your reservation when they went online in June. But now there's another incentive for staying at the Hotel Bel-Air on opening night and that's exclusive access to Wolfgang Puck's new restaurant, The Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air as well as the new bar and lobby lounge.
These spaces will open to the public on November 1st but hotel guests will be among the first to try them out for two weeks. Yay! We love special guest perks!

Mr. C Hotel to Open June 1 and More LA Hotel News
There seems to be a lot of hotel happenings going down in Los Angeles right now. The most important of them all is that the Mr. C Hotel will open June 1, according to a tip. That info is confirmed on the Beverly Hills hotel's website, but our tipster said that it would be ready—completely ready, not pushed back yet again or still sorta under construction—on that date.
If you are dying to check out the new 138-room Mr. C, we found rates for that night at $249. In case you'd rather wait and see what others have to say about the hotel, see what else is going on in L.A. hotels:

Wolfgang Puck to Have a Restaurant in the Soon-to-Open Hotel Bel-Air
As the Hotel Bel-Air readies for its big reopening, one of the new features of the massive renovation is a restaurant from famed chef Wolfgang Puck.
According to Eater, he will set up shop in the newly renovated hotel and call his restaurant the not-very-original Wolfgang Puck at Hotel Bel-Air. At the restaurant, he'll serve contemporary California cuisine with European and Mediterranean touches.

Wolfgang Puck to Open CUT Inside London's 45 Park Lane
CUT in Vegas
We've been so busy tallying up the London Hotel Openings, that we've nearly lost sight of what's actually going inside the hotels. But thankfully, 45 Park Lane has righted us again with their announcement that Wolfgang Puck will open his successful steak restaurant, CUT inside the hotel later this spring.
The first CUT opened at the Four Seasons Beverly Wilshire and was instantly frequented by A-list celebs (TomKat, etc.) That was followed by CUT at The Palazzo in Las Vegas. But even more special for the hotel, aside from having a guaranteed celeb nosh spot, is that this will be Wolfgang's first restaurant in Europe.
It's kinda hard to believe that's never been done before, given how prolific Wolfgang Puck is in America--from LA to Vegas and even on-the-go airport food. Nevertheless, when CUT opens here's a bit on what to expect:

Kid Rock and Wolfgang Puck Hug it Out at MGM Grand Detroit Opening Party

In case you were wondering what Kid Rock and Wolfgang Puck were doing last night, they were attending the opening festivities of the brand new MGM Grand Detroit Hotel and Casino.
The opening was celebrated with a VIP black-tie affair attended by Grammy-nominee Kid Rock and Grammy-Award -winners Ashanti and Anita Baker, along with celebrity chefs Wolfgang Puck and Michael Mina and many other Detroit dignitaries.
The official opening of the doors was commemorated with a visually stunning celebratory moment that lit up the neighborhood and the skyline.
As the property's spectacular Grand Garden was illuminated for the first time, fireworks signaled a new era for downtown Detroit with matchless amenities and accommodations never before available in the Midwest.
Kid Rock seems to be a hotel opening party regular. Let's just hope that he didn't throw down with any fans (or Tommy Lee for that matter.)
