Where Prince William Can Go to Mend His Broken Heart

We know that people will always remember where they were and what they were doing when they found out Prince William had broken up with his long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton. But no one needs a getaway now more than Wills himself.
Holidays in the hills in the west of Wales are not at the top of everyone's list but the tempting New White Lion Hotel might just change that even for Prince William whose family owns Wales or something like that.
Situated in Llandovery, this new--since January--designer hotel has just six rooms, but each is specially designed to reflect a particular character or legend from Welsh culture. For sheer curiosity value, the Llewelyn Ap Gruffydd Fychan room, named after "a local hero who defied the English army and paid with his life", has attracted us. Since one of the reasons William and Kate apparently broke up was the committment the prince had made to the Army, perhaps this room will help him to reflect on his life choices?
But getting back to basics: each of the rooms includes a large-screen TV, antique furnishings and power showers, and in the family-size room, a "luxurious corner bath". The building itself dates from 1838 and is Georgian style but the interior decor is rather swank. So the Prince won't feel as if he's sleeping at his Grandmother's house.
You can get a Welsh breakfast there every day (we're hoping that's better than an English breakfast) but you need to book 24 hours in advance for other meals--then they're mostly organic and have a good "home-cooked" feel to them.
The food is apparently fit for a king-in-waiting. The New White Lion's owners are extremely proud that a 2-star Michelin chef once tried a dessert there and labelled it delicious. (What he thought of the other courses is omitted from the story).
If you have good timing, you might land in the New White Lion on one of their cultural nights--from time to time they hold events like poetry recitals or Welsh storytelling nights.
