Checking in With The Waterclub at Borgata :: No Coolers Allowed

This summer The Water Club at Borgata opened to some very good reviews, (our own included) but we like to see what others have to say about a hotel after it's been open for awhile -- and boy were the reviews from one end of the spectrum to the other.

We went to TripAdvisor and found the reviews evenly split between those who had a great experience, and those who didn't. Most of the bad reviews were related to not finding space in the pools and the high price of the room. Although there was an odd one in there about no coolers allowed in the rooms.

There was one overall consensus though: everyone was impressed by the decor and design of the hotel.

Here's what the TripAdvisor users had to say.

As we mentioned on Monday, the name "The Water Club" didn't come from copying Harrah's Waterfront Tower but was named because of the number of pools in the hotel--5 to be exact. One on the 32nd floor in the spa, two outside and two inside. We think they should have put one on the roof but hey, you can't have everything!

Getting Kinky At The Water Club

The Borgata has always pushed the boundaries of sexy and provocative, from the cocktail waitresses outfits, clubs which promote "sexy and sensual" and do not disturb signs which say "Tidy Up" on one side, and "Tied Up" on the other.

The Water Club continues that vibe yet still manages to not embarrass you that much if you're parents are along with you for the trip. It's ok, you can admit it! This is Atlantic City, everyone goes there with their parents at least once.

The Water Club has taken the "Do Not Disturb" sign to another level - by putting in a rotating disk where you can change the sayings to say "We're.. Flirting, #$*@!, tied up, slumbering, meditating, satiating, indulging or replenishing" depending on your mood or friskiness.

Embassy Suites has nothing on The Water Club.

Last week we attended the ribbon-cutting and grand opening festivities at The Water Club, a Signature Hotel by Borgata and, if you thought the Borgata was nice, you haven’t seen anything yet.

The Water Club is an 800-room non-casino hotel & spa, meaning you need to walk about 300 feet from the lobby through a retail corridor until you finally can see or hear a slot machine.

The Water Club is away from the hustle and bustle of Atlantic City, yet close enough that if you're feeling lucky like JLo's mom, the penny slots, blackjack tables and roulette tables are never too far off.
