Classy London Broad With Transport Problems WLTM Man With A Boat
All good things must come to an end but normally if they’re hotels, we expect them to last longer than a year.
So it’s with sadness that we read that Hotel Verta, the swanky Battersea property by the London heliport, has been put up for sale.
Although its future looked a little shaky in April, when Von Essen went into administration, the fact that the Verta was retained by Von Essen’s founder, Andrew Davis, gave us a little hope.
But now, Eat Out says that it’s been listed for sale. According to Christie & Co, which is handling the sale:
Its situation near the London Heliport, its views over the Thames and its commitment to style and luxury make Hotel Verta one of the unique hotel experiences in the capital.

Got Spare Change This Christmas? Buy a Castle For the Day
Where: United Kingdom
Cliveden. All yours for £80k.
What do you get someone who has everything for Christmas? Or, rather, someone who doesn’t have everything but could quite do with a fancy present? The answer: a castle. Or, if you prefer, an old home of Queen Victoria or even an entire Cotswolds village.
Yep, the uber-posh hotel chain Von Essen (although “chain” is probably the wrong word for something as swanky as this) is “selling” a day’s exclusive use of their properties. So if you’ve ever had any lord and lady fantasies, and if they’ve been squashed by that cow Middleton, you can take out your frustrations this way.

Hotel Verta Is Not Just For the Jet Set, Says The Mail

The bar looks fabulous
You don’t have to have a helicopter to stay at Hotel Verta (although it probably helps, or at least adds to the experience). The luxe newbuild from uber-posh Von Essen hotels at London’s heliport is now open – and the first review from the Mail is in.
Some choice quotes from the review:
The doors slide open and we’re standing in the lobby, designed to evoke the glamour of the Thirties, the golden age of travel. On the ground floor is the Patrisey (the Anglo-Saxon name for Battersea), a long, thin restaurant with a central strip where you can eat perched on a stool. Colors are bright, the mood confident. It’s inviting.
