Guests at Best Westerns May Be a Whole Lot Sexier, Thanks to Virgin Atlantic

Now this is an interesting partnership. The stylish Virgin Atlantic has teamed up with not-so-stylish Best Western Hotels brand to offer guests up to 500 Flying Club miles when they stay at any Best Western Hotel in the world.

High-low fashion senses aside, since there are over 4,000 Best Western International in 90 countries worldwide, there are plenty of opportunities for you to earn Flying Club miles. Some of the hotels aren’t bad either, even Carey Mulligan stays in them.

To celebrate this partnership Best Western have created a cheeky modern remake of Virgin Altlantic’s 25th anniversary video which played homage to the 1980s when the company was founded.

Virgin Atlantic Recommends...

May 28, 2010 at 2:46 PM | by | Comments (2)

You can find hotel recommendations in the strangest of places but you rarely ever expect to see them on the back of an airline's hangover kit.

Normally, we leave the Virgin Atlantic amenities to our baby bro Jaunted but when it involves hotels, then we just have to step in and comment.

We got our hands on one of Virgin Atlantic's Party 24/747 pick you up packs after attending the airline's 20th anniversary celebration of flights from LAX to LHR. (Fittingly, the party was held at the London West Hollywood's rooftop.)

The packs come with four packets of Bender Mender, some supposed hangover cure. (We doubt this really helps since the only proven thing to cure a hangover is actually not drinking in excess in the first place. But still, it's a cute idea.) Then when we turned over the back of the box, Virgin Atlantic had listed some of their favorite party spots, a few of which are in hotels.

Virgin to Launch "Urban" Hotel Brand

June 5, 2008 at 4:15 PM | by | Comments (2)

Two years later, we've got an UPDATE ON VIRGIN HOTELS here.

Last week, we wondered on Jaunted what Virgin Atlantic was announcing via an email to loyalty club members. We thought it might be something like in-flight massage chairs, but according to Marketing Week it's probably three new Virgin Hotels that we first heard of back in March.

Bossman Richard Branson, who already has a few luxe hotels under his belt, says the product will be sorta like Starwood's W Hotels:

Urban, townhouse-style properties, half way between a hotel and a private club.

Apparently other brands have approached his company for ideas, but Branson is ready to just start up some new hotels himself. Rumor has it that the first three properties will be in New York, London and LA.
