Hot Hotelier News: Andre and Uma Burn It Up Again

Today we introduce a new feature called Hot Hotelier News where we keep you posted on the work, life and love interests of our favorite hoteliers. This week, we will do one a day. After that, we'll scale back to one or two a week if we can restrain ourselves. Enjoy.

Looks like things are back on for 2005's top hotelier, Andre Balazs and Uma Thurman. The duo are shown here in Copenhagen the other week (courtesy of People.com) seemingly crazy in love despite the rain.

Last we heard, Uma had this to say about their relationship:

"I've been in and out of a relationship with a wonderful man, and I'm out of it now," she says. "I'm just on my own."

But it looks as if she's changed her mind (now that the promoting for her movie, "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" is over. Coincidence? We think not.) Still all is not rosy in Uma-Andre land. Another photo we found on the twosome has Andre looking a little less happy. Perhaps now that Uma's bought back her Gramercy Park apartment, Andre will have to look at Ian Schrager's Gramercy Park Hotel on a regular basis.

As for Andre's work, look for the Standard New York to open in 2008.

Andre Balazs and his Super Ex-Girlfriend

Uma Thurman is playing with Andre Balazs's heart like Jason Pomeranc promising to "open" of Six Columbus. While Andre needs no help from Pomeranc on opening a hotel, he might want to hit up his hotelier colleague for some advice on how to date Hollywood starlets.

Uma Thurman told Parade magazine on June 2 for an interview that aired this week:

"I've been in and out of a relationship with a wonderful man, and I'm out of it now," she says. "I'm just on my own."

But last week, Page Six reported the hotelier and the actress drinking vodka martinis together at Della Femina in East Hampton. And Star magazine reports the couple were "cavorting along a beach in St. Barts on July 7." Ugh, so pretty much only Page Six and Star think they are still an item?

Sounds like Andre should turn his attention to getting the Standard New York open before 2008. That opening party is bound to introduce him to a new set of available starlets.
