The Sagamore is Still Using Thompson Hotels Logo

A guest at the Sagamore Hotel in Miami Beach last month was able to snag this "Do Not Disturb" sign and scan it for us so that we could see for ourselves that the hotel is still using the Thompson Hotels logo.
As we found out last spring, there was a bit of a blow-up/creative differences betweeen Jason Pomeranc's Thompson Hotels, who managed the Sagamore, and the hotel's owner.
Thus the Thompson Hotels management services were replaced by Desires Hospitality and the hotel went on a revamping bender by opening up Social Miami in the place and putting a baby tiger on display during a recent party.
Yet for some reason the Thompson Hotels logo is still lying around like on this sign and on the hotel's information book--you know that binder thing that has the list of amenities, services, in-room dining menus and emergency exit routes.*
When we contacted the Thompson PR peep, Marissa Cortes, she wrote us to say:
Our lawyers have sent them numerous notices to cease from using our logos, however they continue to do so and are in default of contract. Our lawyers are still dealing with the issue.
If it's any consolation, there is no Thompson logo on the hotel pens or notepads. Maybe the new "Do not disturb" signs are simply on backorder.
*If anyone knows the official name of this in-room book, please let us know.

Tiger Gate Update: Tori Tattoos and Beer?

Sadly, no one has heeded our call for more pictures of or more information about Tiger Gate--the baby tiger who was on display at a Tiger Beer party at the The Sagamore Hotel in Miami Beach.
However, we did find a calendar listing for the party which described what else would be taking place at the party:
Airbrush tattoos, origami artist, Tiger Temptresses, taiko drummers and Japanese flutist between DJ sets, discount beer.
Now what we really want to know is, did the tiger get an airbrush tattoo of Tori Spelling on his arm? Was he dancing on tables to the taiko drummers beat? Or was he *gasp* underage drinking?
We can't tell you how important it is for us to satisfy our curiousity about the tiger's behavior, so please don't be shy. Let us know what you know!

Baby Tiger Terrorized by Sagamore's Boring Party

WWJPD?: What would Jason Pomeranc Do about a live tiger at his former hotel, The Sagamore in Miami Beach?
A tipster lets us know that the hotel has abandoned its Pomerancian minimalist cool and has crammed every inch with restaurant and bar seating.
But even worse, the hotel has entered into its own animal controversy (which we shall call Tiger Gate) much like the Hotel Victor did when they had penguins and P. Diddy popping all over their opening party.
This time, the Sagamore was hosting an event for Tiger Beer, who naturally thought having a baby tiger at the party would be a great hit.
The Bitch at the Miami New Times (we swear that's what she calls herself) happened upon the tiger being restrained by two leashes desperately trying to escape the "annoying drum circle that prevented anyone from talking, let alone relaxing, by the pool."
While the tiger was no doubt eager to resort to pulling a move he learned from Siegfried & Roy's tiger,
The less-than-romantic music didn't discourage a couple from swilling bodily fluids in a papasan chair like two post-prom teenagers going at it in the back seat of a Kia.
Subjecting a young tiger to that is animal cruelty indeed.
If anyone has more pictures of this baby tiger or other news they want to share regarding Pomeranc, the Sagamore or Tiger Gate, please let us know.
