Movie Set Hotel :: Hotel Monaco Makes an Appearance in the Dark Knight

If you haven't seen The Dark Knight we highly recommend that you do as it's just totally awesome, although a tad disturbing.

And if you're a true hotel geek like ourselves you'll be tickled to know that Chicago's Hotel Monaco gets a pretty significant cameo in the film.

The Mayor of Gotham has a killer office overlooking the Chicago River and the letters of Hotel Monaco vertical sign are easily discernible out the window.

Sadly, the hotel doesn't offer any sort of Dark Knight/Batman package but we think they should seriously consider one.

W Lakeshore Guests Witness 'Batman' Filming

There is some word going on that the new Batman movie starring Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhardt is filming near the W Lakeshore Hotel in Chicago.

In Ljcfyi's review of the hotel she posted the pic above along with this tidbit:

They are filming the next Batman movie outside my hotel! Nothing like hearing gunshots and seeing a helicopter fly down the street at traffic light level!

Pretty cool. Meanwhile, Brangelina has swooped into town obviously to turn the tides of attention back on them.
