It's Good to Be an Executive...Suite at The Ritz-Carlton at LA Live

We are suckers for a room with a killer view.  We find that we are even more likely to forgive some minor hotel inconveniences if we can stare out the window at something pretty--yeah we are that shallow. Let's help out our fellow hotel mavens by uploading rooms with killer views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. We will feature our favorites in this space from time to time. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number of the hot view.

Occupy Wall Street might be against executives but when it comes to killer views, we have nothing against them. Executive suites, that is.

Today's killer view can be found from the sweet suite at the Ritz-Carlton at LA Live. Up on the 23rd floor is this Executive Suite which, aside from killer views of the Staples Center and downtown Los Angeles below, features a dining area for six, a wet bar, a powder room, two 42" HDTVs (one in the living room, one in the bedroom), a large master bedroom with a separate dressing area complete with a wall of closets and vanity table and one ginormous master bathroom with a walk in shower and separate tub, dual sinks with marble vanities, built-in mirror TVs and Bulgari toiletries.

Were you aware that The Carlyle has a Roger Federer Suite? Um, well, it does — and it's huge. And expensive. And the New York Observer got itself a hot little tour of the place and published pics of it here.

Up on the 16th floor of the luxe NY hotel lies a two-bedroom suite that costs $3,075 a night, and it has been where the ultra-hunky champ has called home while he's played in each U.S. Open since 2007 (we know he usually prefers to hit up the Four Seasons otherwise). We're talkin' RF monogrammed pillows, some pretty ridiculously opulent bathroom decor, an espresso machine, and even some leopard print rug-action in the master suite. We'll let you make the call between tacky and tasteful on this one — we're on the fence.

We have a love-hate relationship with resorts whose rooms are bigger than your average single-family home, so it was a with a mixture of delight, disbelief, and unadulterated envy that we learned of the three new Christian Liaigre-designed villas at Le Sereno Resort on St. Barth’s Grand Cul-de-Sac beach.

Each one of the three-bedroom mini-mansions spreads out to over 7,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, taking advantage of Grand Cul-de-Sac’s dramatic vistas. According to Liaigre’s press release:

The design of the villas emphasizes simplicity, serenity and attention to detail with ample use of warm, natural textures of varying woods and stone that contrast with the dramatic colors of the view.

Yes, the suite is in that little lighthouse-ish structure.

If the thought of spending the night in a lighthouse floats your boat (ha, we couldn’t help ourselves), then book a stay in Hotel Bellwether’s Lighthouse Suite. The 900-square foot suite is not really a lighthouse, but a freestanding look-alike structure that stands three stories tall.

The architectural marvel offers two bathrooms, a living room, fully equipped kitchen and spacious master suite, as well as a private observation deck that offers 360-degree views of Mount Baker, Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands.

Fifty Cent and Ciara Kick It in AKA New York's Penthouse

And now we know of three people who have stayed at an AKA Extended Stay hotel (so many celebs grabbing headlines from their stays at AKA these days!): Page Six is reporting today that the AKA Times Square, the ultra-luxe extended-stay property in Manhattan, may have been the birthplace of a hip-hop power couple as badass and song-worthy as Beyonce and Jay-Z.

From the NY Post:

Could this be the start of a match made in hip-hop heaven? A source tells us rapper 50 Cent and Ciara recently shacked up together for a night in one of the penthouse suites at the AKA Times Square Hotel & Residences on West 44th Street. "And there was only one bed in that penthouse," our source observed.

In all fairness, there is more than one penthouse at that property, and they can have both one or two-bedroom layouts depending on which one they chose. And um, in case you want to live out a romantic evening a la Fiddy and Ciara: rates for a one-bedroom penthouse start at $2,995, and we're assuming the security here is a little better than at the Philly AKA property.

When you stay in Paris, you'd best do Paris up right. If you're going to go, you should go all the way — live out all your Carrie Bradshaw-esque fantasies and just treat yourself to all the luxuries that a princess (or prince) such as yourself deserves.

And now you've got a new option for royal digs: the Eiffel Suite at Hotel Plaza Athénée. The property (yes, where the final two eppies of the Sex and the City series were filmed) just put the final touches on a newly revamped suite (complete with a connecting Superior Guestroom), and the space comes in around 300 square-meters, "dripping with costly fabrics, luscious colors and magnificent floor-to-ceiling views."

What You Get for $20K in The Stoneleigh's New Penthouse Suite

The Penthouse of the recently-renovated Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa in Dallas is a bit like a Texas woman: beautiful to begin with — but with tons and tons of accessories and add-ons that make her seem to some people a little, er...over-the-top.

But that depends on your tastes, of course. The top two floors of the Stoneleigh are, to say the least, lavish: originally designed by Dorothy Draper back in the '30's, the two-story, 7,200 square-foot suite was given a top-to-bottom makeover by Carleton Varney during the recent property-wide $36 million renovation. The Penthouse is made up of three bedroom suites, a dining room, a living room, a library and bar, a 590-square-foot terrace and seven bathrooms. Seven. Yes.

Stay in Mr. Big's Penthouse at the Hotel Giraffe

The two themes that marked the bulk of 2008's gimmicky hotel packages were, undoubtedly, the election and the Sex and the City movie. While the election packages have disappeared like Sarah Palin (and the inauguration deals have taken over), the SATC packages are still sticking around in at least one NYC hotel: The Hotel Giraffe.

As we've mentioned before, part of this summer's Sex and the City movie was filmed on the property — The Penthouse Piano Suite was actually used as Mr. Big's apartment in the movie. You can book the Kiss & Tell package and stay in the 1,300 square-foot pad, which has panoramic views, a (working) fireplace, a private terrace and a baby grand piano to play your own slow jams.
