Snapshot: How the Hyatt Aruba Celebrated the Super Bowl

Go To The Hotel's Web
Site Where: J.E. Irausquin Boulevard #85, Palm/Eagle Beach, Aruba
February 7, 2007 at 12:51 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

You didn't have to be front row at the 50-yard-line of Dolphins Stadium to enjoy Super Bowl XLI. In fact with Sunday's constant rain, we're not sure any seat in the stadium was worth the money. Well, maybe if you are a Colts fan.

Anyways, the people down at the Hyatt Aruba were able to partake in the resort's Super Bowl Bash and watch the game on an 18-by-8 feet screen which looks as if it's rising up from the ocean.

The resort, which just underwent at $20 million renovation, was serving "bottomless" beer buckets for guests sitting in the 300 lounge chairs provided. Plus, the resort set up additional TVs--tuned into the big game--along the water's edge for guests to watch. It's kinda like a beach-side sportsbook and you didn't have to go home to a $799 a night airport hotel in Miami.

(Thanks, Corey!)

Super Bowl Hotel Party Report: K-Fed Groupies Too Big for Catalina Hotel

Have a Super Bowl hotel party to talk about? Tip us off.

The Super Bowl may be over but there are still plenty of Super Bowl party reports to get through.

The first being about everyone's favorite ex-husband, Kevin Federline. Us Magazine reports that K-Fed's entourage was simply too big for the Catalina.

Usmagazine.com has learned from a source that the 28-year-old rapper/babies' daddy (who's in town for the Super Bowl) wasn't satisfied with his digs at the posh hotel and asked to be moved on Wednesday because his room couldn't accommodate "his women" and "his girls."

We don't know who's picking up the tab (we guess it isn't Britney), but the Catalina peeps complied and moved K-Fed to a pimped-out penthouse down the street at the Chesterfield Hotel.

We're not so sure Federline should be blowing the paycheck from his Super Bowl commericial on hotel rooms for hos. Doesn't he have like four kids to support? That we know about anyways....

Last-Minute Super Bowl Hotel Rooms, Two-a-Day Edition

February 2, 2007 at 11:04 AM | by juliana | 0 Comments

When the game's over, send us your Super Bowl hotel and party pics or upload them to the HotelChatter Flickr Pool.

We thought early this morning your only hope was some poor New Orleans fan trying to get rid of hotel rooms on Miami Craigslist.

But we just got word from a Hyatt Select representative that two of their Miami hotels still have rooms available and are extremely affordable.

The AmeriSuites Miami is about 30 miles from Dolphin Stadium and has suites open for $189 a night, no minimum stay required. The suites come with in-room microwave and refrigerator, free WiFi, and free hot breakfast. There's also a fitness center and swimming pool on site.

The only downside here is that you are right off the Florida Turnpike. But if you are driving to the stadium and back, this is an easy stop.

At the Summerfield Suites, 1/4 miles from the Miami aiport and about 19 miles from the stadium, there are one and two-bedroom suites available starting at $199 a night, with no minimum stay required. Each suite has a living room with a pull-out couch, workspace, internet, full kitchen and a private bedroom with phone and TV. There's also free breakfast, complimentary airport shuttle and a fitness center and outdoor swimming pool.

The downside here normally would be that it's right by the airport and strictly a business traveler's hotel. But with no minimum stay requirement, this is a good pick for you and your friends willing to sleep on the sofa couch.

(Thanks Michael!)

Last-Minute Super Bowl Hotel Rooms Found on Craigslist

February 2, 2007 at 8:48 AM | by juliana | 0 Comments

When the game's over, send us your Super Bowl hotel and party pics or upload them to the HotelChatter Flickr Pool.

With Super Bowl Sunday coming up quick, most people attending the game or the parties have already landed in Miami. But should you decide you to head to Miami on a whim, Craiglist is popping with people trying to unload their hotel rooms.

We found these few:

· The Shelbourne Hotel in South Beach for $450 a night
· Wyndham Miami Airport for $500 a night
· The Betsy Ross in South Beach for $600 a night
· Hilton Airport for $250 a night, three nights minimum.

For other hotel room suggestions, check out the slew of Super Bowl hotel stories that we have done for the past two weeks. But we can't guarrantee these hotels will still have rooms open. We did our best but c'mon, the Super Bowl does start in about 2 days 12 hours 19 minutes and 13 seconds. As our wise 7th grade social studies teacher once told us--If you fail to plan, plan to fail.

Royal Palm Hotel Has Rooms for Super Bowl But Parties? Not So Much

Go To The Hotel's Web

Know somewhere with open hotel rooms or kick-ass hotel parties for Super Bowl weekend in Miami?  Tip us off.

Looks like the Royal Palm Hotel still has some rooms open for this weekend's big game. There's no minimum stay, but if you just want to crash Sunday night, it'll cost you $1,200. A better deal can be had with a multiple night stay--Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights will cost you $699 per night. Thursday's going for only $299. The Royal Palm is on Collins Ave. so there's bound to be plenty of partying going on--or so we'd assume.

See, we told you about the Royal Palm back in September, when plans for the Maxim Lounge were first announced. The lounge will be open for Super Bowl weekend, but that leaves us with one question: Why is Maxim having its Super Bowl party at 8pm on Feb. 2 at The Sagamore?

Hampton Inn and Suites Has $299 Rooms Open For Super Bowl

Go To The Hotel's Web
Site Where: 11600 Northwest 41st Street [map], Miami, FL, United States, 33178
February 1, 2007 at 9:21 AM | by juliana | 0 Comments

Know somewhere with open hotel rooms or kick-ass hotel parties for Super Bowl weekend in Miami?  Tip us off.

The Hampton Inn & Suites in Miami West at Doral Boulevard has rooms open for Super Bowl at the totally do-able price of $299 a night. You can select from either a king bed or two double beds. Suites with full kitchens go up to $399 a night.

And as far as we can tell there is no minimum nights stay required. You can book a room for Sunday, checking out Monday morning still at the $299 rate. Plus the TripAdvisor reviews are above average.

As far as getting to South Beach for parties and to Dolphin Stadium for the actual game, this Hampton Inn is about 20 minutes away from both.

One thing we can vouch for is the nearby Dolphin Mall (.5 miles away). This is a mix of outlet stores and small retail shops but there is Saks Off 5th Avenue and a Neiman Marcus Last Call there which we've have personally hit up several times before.

So if ladies are on the trip and bored, this mall is worth checking out.

(Thanks Lauren!)

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel Has Rooms and Parties Open for Super Bowl

Know somewhere with open hotel rooms or kick-ass hotel parties for Super Bowl weekend in Miami?  Tip us off.

The Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Fla is about 20 minutes away from the Super Bowl's Dolphin Stadium and about 40 minutes away from South Beach. And unlike an airport hotel in Miami, rooms here are less than $700 a night, but not by much.  We found rooms available on Friday night for $349 but which then jump up to $509 for Saturday and Sunday.

Aside from being close to the action and having hotel rooms available the Seminole Hard Rock is hosting a slew of Super Bowl parties this week. Tonight is the premiere event with a full-length concert by Prince at Hard Rock Live. Starting at 8pm, Prince (who is the featured performer for the Super Bowl's halftime show) will be performing all his greatest hits like "When Doves Cry" "1999 and "Purple Rain." Come to think of it, we are not sure we know any "new" Prince songs. Either way, tickets range from $100-$400 and are available through Ticketmaster.com, as are all the events at the Hard Rock.

More on the Seminole Hard Rock Super Bowl Parties after the jump.

Catalina Hotel's Big Game Super Bowl Party

Go To The Hotel's Web
Site Where: 1732 & 1756 Collins Ave [map], Miami Beach, FL, United States, 33139
January 29, 2007 at 4:15 PM | by juliana | 0 Comments

Know somewhere with open hotel rooms or a kick-ass party for Super Bowl weekend in Miami?  Tip us off.

As we mentioned last week, the Catalina Hotel is throwing a Super Bowl party and the good news is you don't need to plunk down $950 for a hotel room for four nights to attend.

Geared for bowlgoers who either couldn't get a ticket or didn't try, the hotel's Big Game Party is modeled after the old parking lot tailgates but instead of fat guys in football jerseys and barbeques, you will find models and lounge seating with the game playing on the hi-def flat screens and projected on the walls. Food from the hotel's Maxine Restaurant will be served all night long and the beer will be flowing.

But the best news about this party is that it's open to the public and there's no cover to get in.
