May 14, 2013 at 1:53 PM | by | Comments (0)

Deals: you want 'em, and surprisingly, everyone has 'em. Take a look at some of the latest hotel deals going around the internet today from booking sites, social media sites, flash sale sites and more. Don't forget to scroll down to see the HotelChatter-approved deal either. Who knows? You might just find what you're looking for. (But don't forget to tell us about your stay!)

DEALS, DEALS, DEALS*

· Alpine Cool Savings with Swissotels: All 31 Swissotels worldwide are offering a 20 percent discount when guests stay two nights or more. The summer offer also gives guests a signature summer cocktail and 15 percent off from the Swissotel online shop, www.swissotelathome.com. The deal is good for stays from May 31 to September 30. But you can start booking your travel on May 16. Go here to get the discount.

· Stay Cool at The Four Seasons Dallas: Here's one way to beat the Texan heat and save a little bit of money on your hotel stay too. The Four Seasons Dallas Big Chill package gives guests a special "mercury rate" on the second night of their stay which will be that day's recorded Fahrenheit high temperature. The deal is good for weekend stays from May 31 to August 25 and just FYI, the high temps in Dallas in July and August are about 96 degrees. June is slightly "cooler" at 92 degrees. But the hotel says last year during a similar promotion, rates were as cool as 76 degrees some days. First-night rates start around $305 a night. Go here to book but be sure to check the weather for your intended stay too. The deal is also good for the Austin and Houston properties as well.

· Red Eye Perks at Ink48: Ink48 in Manhattan's Hell Kitchen nabe has put together a package especially for folks arriving into town on the red eye. Available as soon as guests arrive at the hotel, the package includes a 20 percent discount on the jet-lag recovery treatment at the InkSpa, full use of the spa facilities (including the showers), a travel kit of Kerstin Florian products, 20 percent off breakfast at PRINT, complimentary luggage storage and early check-in if available. Rates start at $299, use promo code JETLAG to book. The deal is good through September 3, 2012.

· Desert Discounts at La Quinta Resort in Palm Springs: Summer in the Palm Springs desert means deals abound. Right now, the La Quinta Resort and Club (a Waldorf-Astoria hotel) is offering guests the chance to play all 90 holes on their golf course, along with guestroom accommodations, unlimited golf per person (because we guess 90 holes is not enough?), NO RESORT FEE and a $25 dining credit. Rates start at $157 a night. Call 1-800-598-3828 for reservations and mention the Desert Links package.

· The Last Days of Jumeirah Essex House for Low $200s: There's a rumor going around that the Jumeirah Essex House may turn into a Marriott (again) so if you want to experience the Central Park hotel before that happens, Quikbook is promising rates for as low as $216 a night this summer. However, we found rates at about $238 in August in the middle of the week which was an advance purchase rate. Still, a luxe hotel near the Park for below $250 is a rather good deal for NYC.

· The Athenaeum's After-Olympics Deals: The Olympics might have London hotels in a rate-jacking mode but if you want a deal, wait until August 14. That's when the Athenaeum Hotel is offering deluxe rooms from $579 a night (in US dollars) plus another 50 percent off a second room. That includes a bunch of freebies like full English breakfast, drinks and snacks from the mini bar, free WiFi and tax. Plus, kids under 12 eat free when dining with an adult, making it especially good deal for families. If you book more than three nights, the hotel will also throw in a one-way car transfer from either Heathrow or Gatwick airports. Five nights will get you a complimentary round-trip transfer.

· Drop It Like It's Hot at L'Auberge de Sedona: We don't mind playing games when it comes to hotel room rates, especially if we can be sure of a guaranteed hotel discount. At the L'Auberge de Sedona in Arizona, the temperature at the resort will be measured against the temperature at the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport at 4pm. The difference in the temps will end up being the dollar amount discounted off the guests' first night at the resort. For instance, right now the weather is 99 degrees at the airport while in Sedona, 90-minutes away, it's just 84. You must book a Best Available Rate which starts around $425 for a junior suite, not including a 10 percent service fee.

Score Some Resort Cred With Mandarin Oriental's Summer Deal

July 6, 2009 at 9:32 AM | by | Comments (0)

No matter which Mandarin Oriental hotel you want to visit this summer, they're offering you a Summer Break package which could prove worthwhile. (Curious about the summer thing, we double-checked and found they don't have any strictly southern hemisphere hotels yet, so the deal really does fit across their entire hotel group).

Basically, the deal is this: book a minimum of two nights between now and September 7, and you'll get up to $100 credit a day to spend in the hotel during your stay — on anything from restaurant meals to spa treatments or even airport transfers. In fact, the credit varies between $25 and $100 a day depending on which hotel you're headed for, but it increases if you book a suite; you could get between $50 and $150.

If we had to pick a Mandarin Oriental destination to take advantage of this deal, we'd probably dream of choosing between the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong or the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo. But since we still have to pay to get there, the Mandarin Oriental San Francisco might be more do-able. And we're pretty sure we'd be spending that credit money in the spa — or the bar.

Raffles Resort Drops the Cost for Summer

June 25, 2008 at 9:00 AM | by | Comments (0)

A while back we were griping that the luxury Raffles Resort Canouan Island (and its golf course) was a bit pricey at $455 a night during summer (and almost a hundred bucks more in winter). But the Raffles has come through with a summer special that's quite a bit more reasonable.

The promoters claim that the Summer Getaway special rates for this resort are a saving of 56% per cent, although we're not exactly sure where they get that figure. In any case, the rates for summer (through to September 18) are now starting at $360 a night in a double, for a minimum of three nights, plus you get a full buffet breakfast each day, airport transfers and non-alcoholic drinks in the mini-bar all included.

What they don't do is help you out with any tips on surviving the world's most demanding golf course; we can only hope that a satisfying buffet breakfast will at least give you the energy to get around the course, and at least you won't be paying so much.

South Beach Hotel Rates Head South

June 19, 2007 at 3:20 PM | by | Comments (0)

Heading to Miami this time of year involves an element of throwing caution to the wind. Wind as in those high gusts associated with a tropical storm or hurricane. Of course historically the big whoppers tend not to whip up until later in the summer. Nonetheless, South Beach hotels are already dropping rates to lure the stormy-weather risk-averse among us. Last week, we looked at The Standard Miami's 'Summer Lovin' deal. This week we got three more hot hotels and their hotter deals after the jump.
