Suite Gear: Hyatt's Slumber Party

May 4, 2006 at 8:43 AM | by | ()

A Sweet 16 birthday party doesn't have to be celebrated with all the pizzazz of an MTV Super Sweet 16 (public hand out of invitations, whiny birthday girl, famous pop star as the entertainment) to be a cool party.

No, it can be celebrated at the Hyatt who just announced their "HyaTTeen Suite 16" program. At select Hyatts across the U.S. and the Caribbean, the program allows teens

to assert their independence and celebrate their birthdays by indulging in a range of fun activities -- from chocolate manicures to surfing lessons -- with their best friends.

(Funny, we celebrated teenage independence by tasting gin and juice at our sweet 16.)

The package will include one night in a two bedroom suite, limo transpo within 30 miles, a Kashmere Spa robe for the birthday teen, dinner and dessert for 8, bowls of candy and popcorn, On Command movie, use of a digital camera, board games and breakfast. The total bday price is about $2,500.

There's also a Birthday Concierge who can arrange "supplementary" (i.e. you pay more) activities like manicures or recreational sports.

But sorry girls. Parents must accompany the party or at least "pretend" to stay overnight. And booking a Hyatt room is not as cool as having Frankie J. sing at your party.
