Hotel de Paris Prepares Its Arrival On The St Tropez Scene

Aaaah, St. Tropez: a little village on the French Riviera that gets overrun by seemingly every rich potentate and aspiring celebutante come summertime. If your yacht is in the shop, or you prefer to stay on dry land anyway, you’ll have a new hotel to choose from this year, with the opening of the Hotel de Paris Saint Tropez, hopefully later this month.

Walking distance from the harbor and the Citadelle (where the above view can be had), Hotel de Paris goes back to the 1930s as one of the first St Tropez hotels and the place to be seen in the 60s and 70s. So what can we expect in its modern reincarnation?

Hotel Sezz Says It's The New Place to Be on the French Riviera

If Paris Hilton’s recent sojourn in St Tropez put you off the place for good, you might like to know about the latest place to open in Eurotrash central. The Sezz St Tropez has opened its doors (mercifully in time to avoid a Hilton visit) and is the latest Design Hotel to grace the Riviera.

It’s a tiny hotel, with just 37 rooms (called cocoons, bungalows and villas) and a restaurant, spa and (sigh) champagne bar and the aim is relaxation – the hotel has apparently been inspired by the lavender fields of southern France, and the owner has promised it will be “a place full of grace and tranquility.” Umm, good luck matching that with the champagne bar.
