The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Girls Are Taking A Vegas Vacation

Hot girls and Vegas go hand in glove, of course, but the hot quotient just rocketed thanks to the arrival of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit crew.

The ladies of SI swapped Hawaii for New York for Sin City yesterday.

They pack in a lot to their annual visit: yesterday they faked had lunch at the new Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, and then hit the Monte Carlo and Luxor.

Today (stalking caps on) they’re taking in the Monte Carlo again, the Hard Rock and Caesars Palace, before finishing with a night out at Vanity nightclub at the Hard Rock. For full listings, see VegasChatter.

Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Edition Models Shacked Up at Maui's Grand Wailea

The Grand Wailea Resort in Maui is having quite the turbulent February. First, it filed bankruptcy and was bought by new owners, despite its almost $2 billion in debts, and then it was featured in the movie Just Go With It. There's even a contest open now to win a good vacation stay at the resort as a tie-in with the movie.

Finally, the Grand Wailea is again the center of attention, as today it was announced that it was the temporary Hawaii home of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue's bevy of models, stylists and photographers when they stayed in Maui to shoot the 2011 issue, hitting newsstands today. We've visited the Grand Wailea before and found it a bit too family-oriented for our luxury tropical relaxation tastes, but all those models and famous photogs could've shifted the balance for at least a weekend.

Sports Illustrated Ladies Frolicked at the Anantara Resorts in The Maldives

Most people pick up the newest edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue because they want to drool over Brooklyn Decker or Bar Rafaeli in the skimpiest, totally unwearable bathing suits ever fashioned from two scraps of fabric (or seaweed or sand dollars or whatever else is lying around.)

But we scope out the SI because we want to know which hotels got lucky with the ladies as SI is always gives the accommodations for its photo shoots major shout-outs (at least on the website.)

This year, the luckiest of the bunch has to be the Anantara Resorts in The Maldives. We've always been a big fan of here at HotelChatter (hello, overwater bungalows!) and it looks like Brooklyn, Bar and their friends, Dominique Piek and Christine Teigen are big fans now too.

The Maldives was the cover location for the 2010 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and more importantly for us hotel geeks, The Anantara Dhigu Resort and Spa and the Naladhu Resort in the South Male Atoll is where the girls shacked up at night.
