Gisele Bündchen: Undercover Hotel Tycoon?

Tags: , , , ,

Yesterday we were innocently perusing one of our favorite sites, Jezebel, when we came across this question in an item, summing up GQ's recent interview with supermodel Gisele Bündchen:

"Did you know Gisele owns some sort of extended-stay hotel in Santa Monica?"

Um, nooooooooo, we thought as we hung our heads in shame. And we call ourselves hotel mavens! We did some research on the Internets and, adding insult to injury, came up with zero.

The GQ interview is available online, but we're guessing it's the abridged version since there is no mention of said hotel ownership.

However, we did learn via The Insider that she is owner of the Palladium Executive in the south of Brazil, another seemingly phantom hotel that only exists in Gisele's bio, since we can't even find a web site for it.

What is up here? We're too lazy to schlep to the magazine stand on the corner to pick up GQ, so we're asking you to do some heavy lifting for us.

Hey, it's the day before a holiday weekend. We might still be in the room, but we've already checked out.

Anyone got the details on Gisele Bündchen, superhotelier? Let us know.

Guess The Hotel:: Call Girls for Charlie Sheen in Santa Monica

Page Six has the scoop on a new article from Rolling Stone about a high-end call girl service that once sent pretty girls to allegedly "work with" Charlie Sheen at a hotel in Santa Monica last year.

Sheen's rep told the gossip column, "This is an old, old, old story." But he didn't quite deny it.

Thus, a new version of Guess The Hotel begins. This one is slightly different because whereas in previous editions we held the answer, this time we're asking you to put your guesses forth as to where high-end call girls would go to service clients.

To help you out we've come up with a list of potential call girl hotels in Santa Monica. We've also mapped out these locations so as to give you a better idea of where they are. And because we like maps!

*Note: We aren't saying Charlie Sheen definitely took call girls to these hotels. This is purely a fictional fantasy map.

See our suggestions after the jump.

One Pico at Shutters Gets a Facelift

One of our personal favorite beachside Santa Monica hotels has got a new look inside. Eater LA has the scoop on the renovations completed at the One Pico fine dining restaurant inside Shutters on the Beach.

The room will have a breezier look, lots of ocean blues (in this case teal tufted leather chairs), dark wood accents; the lovely beachside views remain.

Michael Reardon, who's now executive chef of all the ETC Hotel properties (Casa del Mar next door and Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara included), created a seasonal, Italian-inspired menu. Think: grilled octopus with potatoes and capers, homemade pastas, steak Fiorentina, John Dory with langoustines and farmer's market vegetables.

The restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner and should open officially sometime this week. For a more casual setting, hit up Coast on the bottom floor which also got a renovation fairly recently. The terrace and pool deck is still under construction and will reopen on April 25th.

Fun fact: the hotel will chauffeur you around in a Mercedes-Benz with the license plates 1PICO. That's so California!

The Viceroy Santa Monica has been bringing out the cool gimmicks for ages. They once had a video game coach back in 2005 although we're sad to report that job no longer exists. Yet now with summer coming, the hotel is bringing out a few more tricks to keep us interested.

This time it's a pool concierge who's going to provide "special poolside amenities" from the Memorial Day weekend all the way through to Labor Day. These include waterproof games to play when you're resting poolside and the pool concierge will also help you coordinate trips to the beach by providing sunscreen, towels and a beach picnic. But if it's a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, get back from the beach by 2.00pm, because there's a surprise snack or drink, like a glass of champagne or a homemade popsicle.

If you feel like you've been out in the sun too long, you'll also be able to climb into a couple of the poolside cabanas which will be converted into mini movie-theaters. While you watch they'll bring you popcorn and kids will get drink choices like chocolate milk and fresh lemonade from a special menu. We hope that adults will be allowed a glass of chocolate milk, too.

Brady's Baby Momma Secretly Rejoicing at Shutters Hotel?

While Tom Brady was having the worst game of the season in the biggest game of the year yesterday, Bridget Moynahan (his ex-girlfriend and baby momma) was cool as a cucumber while brunching at Shutters on the Beach Hotel in Santa Monica.

Gossip Girls report:

The "Recruit" actress was caught by the paparazzi over at the Shutters Hotel yesterday afternoon for a little pre-game grub. And the new mommy was looking comfy and casual in a striped sweater, overcoat, and a simple pulled-back hairdo. If she was feeling a little jealous of her ex, Tom Brady, it didn't last long.

Ok so technically if she was there before the game started she couldn't be rejoicing (yet) but maybe she was confident that her game jinxing tricks would work?

We admit we're not the world's biggest fans of The Bachelor, but we have been looking forward to seeing the upcoming season ever since Tuesday. See, that's when we found out that the crew--including the latest eligible stud--were recently seen cavorting around the pool at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel:

They're filming the next season of 'The Bachelor' at the pool here. All the contestants were running around doing some kind of a triathlon...When he was all done, and the cameras were off, he pulled a sock out of his swimsuit.

Yikes. You don't need to go that far just to hit up the hotel's pool, which is at the center of the property, overlooking the Pacific. It may not be regulation size for our triathlete, but, then again, he's apparently not into standard equipment.

In his defense, it is always so cold at that pool.
