While everyone is focused on newlyweds Prince William and Princess Kate's impending trip to Southern California, another set of royals is planning a South African honeymoon. Monaco's Prince Albert and his bride-to-be, Charlene Wittstock, will celebrate their post-marital bliss at the Oyster Box Hotel, People reported.

The engaged couple will have a July 1-2 wedding and then make their way to the hotel, which is in Umhlanga Rocks, 20 minutes north of Durban.

Prince Harry and The Curious Case of The Goring Hotel Balcony Jump

Did Prince Harry jump from a balcony at The Goring Hotel the night before the Royal Wedding? The Daily Mail sure hopes thinks so, citing an anonymous source who said Prince Harry was the life of the party until 3am when he leaped off a balcony from the hotel's veranda.

The paper has even created a helpful diagram to show us how Hot Ginger may have done the act. But apparently, he was not so suave in pulling off the feat. The hotel waiter source tells the Mail:

He had struggled to climb up the railings to get into position, so when he jumped over the edge he did so rather unsteadily and landed awkwardly next to a flower bed.

'He flinched for just a moment before he stood up, rubbing his ankle. Then he looked up, smiled and waved to a roar of cheers before disappearing on to the lawn where there was a secret exit.

Royals, they are just like us! They do stupid things at rehearsal dinners too, making them unbearably hungover for the big day.

Okay, we admit that sometime before we had our coffee this morning, the Royal Wedding got to us and melted our hard hearts just a tad. We're not sure which part was our favorite exactly, but Kate's departure (and the first glimpse of the Sarah Burton-designed Alexander McQueen dress) from The Goring definitely ranks up there.

As we've previously reported, The Goring is Middleton headquarters this week, as Kate stayed there last night, prepped for the wedding there, had her final fitting with Sarah Burton there, and her parents will remain there tonight. Therefore we're betting that it's going to be a feat to access the hotel to soak in some of the royal spirit. In fact, The Goring will likely be overrun with Royal Wedding-obsessed tourists and locals alike for the next few months at least.

Therefore, you're going to need another suggestion for a great hotel afternoon tea, hmm?

You might do a double-take today when you see a royal guard in a furry black hat standing stoically outside of the Beverly Wilshire. It looks like the guy got lost on his way to Buckingham Palace.

Of course, it's just the latest case of royal wedding fever among hotels. If you weren't among the sleepy Kate and Wills fans to wake up in the middle of the night to watch the wedding, you can still get into the festivities at the hotel.

Where To Watch That Wedding In London (If You Must)

April 28, 2011 at 10:17 AM | by | Comment (1)

Still fancy a front row seat at the Royal Wedding? The good news is not all London hotels are sold out. Looks like that big wedding isn't going to be that big after all!

If you want to be right in the thick of it your best bet is to choose a hotel in Westminster or near to the proccesion route. The Royal Horseguards Hotel located on the Embankment is a pretty safe bet, just a few minutes’ walk away from the procession.

The hotel has created a special package which includes brekkie, a wedding gift and afternoon tea for £375 per night. However when we checked there were still double rooms available for £185 per night with a mininum two-night stay.

You're either really into The Royal Wedding or totally not, so for those who are, we've got some exciting hotel gossip today.

There's been much talk over where Kate Middleton will hold her hen party, where she'll stay before the wedding and what hotel the couple will pick for their honeymoon. Finally—finally—we can confirm an answer for the first two questions: London's super-British 5-star property The Goring. CNN is reporting that not only will Kate spend tomorrow night—her last night as a single woman—in one of the just-renovated top-floor suites (which boats silk-lined walls and a baby grand piano), but that Kate's parents will also be holing up here.

Kate Middleton's Tiara and Engagement Ring Now Available To Eat

April 27, 2011 at 1:12 PM | by | Comment (1)

With only two days left until the big day the Royal Wedding hotel events are getting sillier. Yesterday we brought you the Premier Inn's package which offers guests the chance to sleep with the couple and today it's the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin hotel who have announced the sweetest package yet.

The two-time world champion pastry chef Laurent Branlard has created exact replicas of some of the Royal Jewelery, only made from sugar. The pieces include Princess Diana’s royal tiara and the sapphire engagement ring Wills gave to Kate. We're not sure what the tiara is resting on but that yellow face looks kind of freaky!

We Promise, This is the Last of the Royal Wedding Hotel Packages

April 21, 2011 at 9:32 AM | by | Comments (0)

America has royal wedding fever, and it's only getting worse as we get closer to the big day when Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot at Westminster Abbey.

Kate's every move is being monitored by the press, tacky wedding souvenirs are selling like hot cakes and there's even a horrible-looking Lifetime movie on the soon-to-be-married couple.

And now hotels are doing some last ditch efforts to cash in on the royal wedding madness with last-minute packages for the wedding day, April 29. We have absolutely no idea who is booking these packages but should you and your book club want to celebrate the nuptials in a hotel, here are 9 Last-Minute Royal Wedding Hotel Packages.

London's Park Plaza Hotels Are Dangling a Free Night for Royal Wedding Guests

April 18, 2011 at 11:32 AM | by | Comments (0)

Whilst most other London hotels are upping their rates for the Royal Wedding, Park Plaza Hotels are bucking the trend by ffering guests a free night on April 29th, the wedding night. And we thought Camp Royale was cheap!

There is a sort of pre-nup to sign however. Guests must stay (and pay) for four nights to qualify for the free night. But with room rates from £89 per night it's not that bad a value.

There are six Park Plaza Hotels in London but the Royal Package is only available at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, the Park Plaza County Hall and the Park Plaza Riverbank. All of which are situated only ten minutes away from the Royal Parade route and close to the tourist attractions of Big Ben, Westminster and the London Eye. (That's a view from one of the suites at the Westminster Bridge hotel where regular rooms start at £109.00 a night.)

To book your stay, head over to the Park Plaza website and quote the promotion code of “Royal” when booking.

This is One Secret The Bentley London Should Keep To Themselves

Where: 27 - 33 Harrington Gardens, London, United Kingdom, SW7 4JX
April 14, 2011 at 5:27 PM | by | Comment (1)

The Bentley London Hotel calls itself one of the city's "best kept secrets" but these TVs in their guestrooms should probably remain hidden.

Even though the hotel's website shows flat-screens in their rooms, it seems a few of these clunkers have stayed on. For a luxury hotel, you'd think they be on the up and up with the latest in TV technology. Why even the budget Tune Hotel in Westminster has flat-screens.

Not surprisingly, the hotel is part of the Waldorf-Astoria Collection, whose hotels aren't always "with it" amenity-wise or technology-wise, especially in their flagship hotel in New York. We rather like the rest of the opulently styled rooms with their luxe bedding, chandeliers and silk-covered walls and drapes but still, those TVs should remain out of sight.

More From the Royal Wedding Ripoffs Department

April 8, 2011 at 2:17 PM | by | Comments (0)

While hotels around the world go package mad for the Royal Wedding, Londoners are also trying to cash in on the nuptials by advertising their spare rooms, sofa beds and houses on sites such as gumtree, Airbnb and rent my house.

Even estate agents are listing rentals for that week whilst home owners jet off abroad on their holidays.

But if you’re thinking these alternatives will be cheaper than a hotel, think again. Some of them are charging a hefty price with one double room in a flatshare listed for £2,400 per week! For a room with shared bathroom? Royal Rip Off!
