Red Carnation Hotels Employs Snooty British Travel Columnist for Podcasts And We Love It

"Omg, that Roger Collis is hysterical! I totally hate toilet paper folded into a point too!"
Nothing turns us on more than a British accent, but what really gets us going is a person with a British accent talking about hotels. And if you want to drive us crazy, this person will be discussing "what I love to hate about hotel rooms."
Red Carnation Hotels must have read our Match.com profile, because they've enlisted Roger Collis, a travel columnist with the International Herald Tribune, to do just that, via a new podcast feature available on its web site.

London Can't Quit Fashion Week

Fashion Week has gone across the pond to London this week and there's one thing the Brits have that New York Fashion Week doesn't--namely London Fashion Weekend, a ticketed, four-day event taking place February 20-24 on the lawns of the Natural History Museum in South Kensington, offering designer fashion at discounted prices.
What a wonderful time of year February must be for London hoteliers--if you think it's impossible to find a decent hotel rate there on any given night, imagine the scene when its crowded with worldwide fashionistas eager to score the next hot number from Anuk Harvey or Belle & Bunty. With a potential sputtering economy, New York should follow the cue.
Of course, during that weekend, there are hotel deals to be had. All three Red Carnation Hotels there--Kensington's The Milestone Hotel; 41, near Buckingham Palace (pictured above); and The Egerton House Hotel in Knightsbridge--are offering rates that start at about $590, which include one night in a luxury double room; full English breakfast; a welcome drink; and two tickets to the London Fashion Weekend event.
The fashion conscious should opt to stay at 41, one of the "official" hotels of London Fashion Week and a trendier option than the rest.
