Hotels Celebrate Their Birthdays By Giving US the Gift of Low Room Rates

We've got some piping hot deals in our inbox today. Here's three we think you might like!
Galleria Park Turns 100
Turning 100 years old has got to be hard...unless you're a hotel. Then it's easy, all you have to do is offer up special birthday rates.
Galleria Park Hotel in San Francisco is celebrating their milestone birthday by offering guests rates based on the year they were born.
The birthday rate is only good for folks who book at least two nights in the hotel but if you were born in 1978, then the rate on the last night of your stay is just $19.78!
Rates at the hotel typically start at $129 a night and the special centennial rate is based on availability. You also have to book your room by calling the hotel directly as the special rate is not available online. So put 1.800.792.9639 in your speed-dial now.

Need More Advice on Where to Sleep? Keep a LUXE City Guide in Your Bag

We know, we know, guidebooks are on their way out and pretty soon, the younger generation coming up will ask us what it was like to travel with guidebooks once.
But we've always been a fan of LUXE City Guides for their slim, very portable design and fun accordion-style fold-out pages. Oh, and also their witty prose which tells you both what's in right now and what's way, way, out. These guides are perfect for the traveler who gets the shakes at the sight of a Visitor Welcome Center. As their tagline reads, "Stylish, Brutally Frank and Sometimes, Frankly, Brutal."
Check out their overview of London for a taste of their wit:
Hey there Georgie Girl...what's with the Russian accent? She may be gripped by masspiration, new monied affluenza and a serious outbreak of chainstore-itis but fret not this dolly hasn't been around for over 2,000 years and not learnt a trick or two.

The James Chicago's Private Sale Scores You 25% Off
Mmmm, private sale. The two words alone are enough to conjure up visions of red-soled shoes, couture and fancy digs but, luckily for us, we see those two beautiful words together plenty because we keep up with our fave brands and hotel properties on Twitter. We're hearing that Oprah's even in on this Twitter thing.
And here's one more reason why you should be: via an in-the-know Twitterer, we learned of the just-announced Private Sale at The James Chicago which scores us 25% off the Best Available Rate Offer.
The sale is valid for rezzies April 16 through September 15 of this year, though you have to book your stay by April 25th (that's soon!) Oh, and there's no minimum stay or anything. Just a good ol' private sale.
Rooms here start at $203 and go up from there score the 25% off deal by booking through the offer page.

The offer is valid for stays between Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 and Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, and reservations must be booked between Monday, October 27 and Wednesday, November 5. Reservations can be made here, but be sure to use booking code LTP106.

HotelChatter Reader Deals :: Baggage Bailout in Vail for Ski Season

Vail Resorts 'Baggage Bailout'
$50 baggage credit
So, airlines charge baggage fees now. And that is a huge pain -- especially when you're lugging your skis and poles and little brother's snowboard across the country for your Colorado ski vacay.
Vail Resorts hears you: when you book at least a four-day, four-night ski or snowboard vacation by Dec. 1 through Vail Resorts -- whether you're going to Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone or Heavenly -- you'll receive a $50 credit meant to be applied to cover your airline's baggage fee.
To qualify: book four or more nights of lodging at any lodging property at one of the Vail Resorts' five mountains, and buy at least four days of adult lift tickets by Dec. 1 (for travel this ski season through April 20, 2008). Make sure you book through Vail Resorts.
