We like to think that we know our way around social media, but when it comes to aggregating data from Twitter and parsing out the positive and negative posts—that’s above our pay grade.
Thankfully Fortune is featuring the handiwork from the smarty-pants team over at Crimson Hexagon, as they just released a little information about the most hated hotel brands doing their thing on social media. We’ll get to all the details in a minute, but to cut to the chase Hilton has a lot of work to do. They scored a 17% negative rating, as guests aren’t cool with paying for WiFi, complain of poor connection speeds, report billing problems, and note a few other less than positive comments.
The opening of the 2014-2015 NFL season has been severely tarnished by the off-season antics of some of the league's star players.
First, Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens was caught on video punching, then dragging his then-fiancee, now wife in an elevator at an Atlantic City casino. Next, it was revealed that Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings took a switch (better known as a tree branch) and repeatedly hit his four-year-old son with it. While Rice was suspended and cut from the Ravens, Peterson was only deactivated from Sunday's game. Yet the way he chose to discipline his son cost his team a very big sponsorship partner.
Radisson Hotels, whose U.S. headquarters are in Minnesota, have decided to suspend their sponsorship of the Vikings while they "evaluate the facts and circumstances." Radisson's parent company, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, also put this statement out: “Radisson takes this matter very seriously particularly in light of our long-standing commitment to the protection of children.”
The suspension was put in place just hours after the general manager of the Vikings gave a press conference about reinstating Peterson while the GM was stood in front of backdrop that held both the Vikings and the Radisson logo. Since the questionable behavior of NFL players off the field will continue to be a topic through the rest of the season, we suggest all hotels look carefully at the teams they sponsor and if necessary, follow Radisson's lead.

Well, after only four years of operating under the Radisson Blu brand, the property has been bought by Riu Hotel & Resorts for $45 million and will undergo a name change to the Riu Palace St. Martin on June 1st.
While it has yet to be announced whether Riu will make any physical changes to the property, we do know that it will become an entirely all-inclusive resort under the new ownership. There was an all-inclusive option under Radisson, but it was not an all-inclusive property.

Well, thanks to Radisson Hotels who has created a new iPhone/iPad gam, we can test our ability to clean rooms on time, answer questions for the concierge and welcome new guests on a regular basis, all the while keeping current guests happy. It doesn't sound so easy now, does it?
Rad Hotel is the name and managing a hotel is the game where wannabe-hotel-managers can choose between eight different hotel types and locations, ranging from "downtown" properties to beach and ski resorts. While all of the hotels share the same look, the sightseeing tours change from hotel to hotel.
The object of Rad Hotel is to check-in guests, assigning them the most appropriate room; for example, business men score the single rooms and families can only grab a double. Makes sense. Then each of your "guests" stay in the room for an unknown amount of time while calling the front desk for housekeeping, room-service, maintenance and concierge requests.

The 301-room Raddison Blu Philadelphia just put the finishing touches on its lobby last week (they were literally pressing the letters on the wall during our stay), finalizing its $20 million conversion and celebrating its full opening. Looking for a new hotel to check out in Philly? Here are five things to know before you check in:

It's the first repurposed Radisson Blu property in the States: While the aforementioned properties were all new construction, the Rad Blu Philly was the first conversion project, originally opened as the Warwick Hotel in 1926. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which means that the exterior and structure of the building could not be altered. The top few floors of the hotel have remained as private residences.

Last month, the 500-room Radisson Blu Mall of America became the second Radisson Blu to open in the US (after Radisson Blu Aqua Chicago). But one thing that sets this place apart from Chicago (and all other subsequent Rad Blus) is that it directly connects to the Mall of America, with its 530 shops, 5 major department stores, multiple food courts, indoor theme park, and 14-screen movie theater. If they want, hotel guests can even arrange for a personal shopper and bag pick-up to maximize the experience. Rates from $174/night.

The Radisson Plaza Hotel Minneapolis has few flaws. Reviews are great, in fact. Out of towners love its comfort, reliability, cleanliness, and proximity to downtown attractions. Locals love the in-house FireLake Grill and lobby bar. So far, so good, right? Of course, there's a but...
There's one complaint that we see pop up now and then from guests--it's that the hotel's service can be impersonal at times and that it just doesn't sparkle the way they envisioned a 4-star hotel should.
Well, we think we can consider that problem officially solved. Last week, Radisson announced the property will be converted into a Radisson Blu, meaning if the hotel is considered "upscale" now, it will soon be "upper-upscale." Basically, more Ps and Qs, and maybe a white glove or two.

One thing we’re doing in 2013 is paying serious attention to the hotel loyalty programs we’ve signed up for over the years. It seems like we’re a member of damn near everything, given how easy it has been to register for most loyalty programs. Hey, if it means free minibar items (hey, Kimpton’s InTouch!) or WiFi (hola, Fairmont President’s Club?),then we’re ‘bout it.
However, there comes a time when we have to look at all our membership cards spilling out our travel wallet and ask the all-too-important question: What have you done for me, lately?
We just happened to be looking at our Club Carlson card, thinking we weren’t getting much out of our relationship, when we got news that Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, the company behind Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, and Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, was launching the Club Carlson Triple Points Returns promotion. Members of the hotel’s rewards program would earn triple Gold Point for eligible nights through March 15, 2013.
We put the scissors down.
We talked about it two years ago, and now it's finally happening! When the 500-room Radisson Blu Mall of America opens next spring (anticipated March 2013), it will be the only hotel to offer accommodations directly connected to the ginormous Mall of America.
We know what you’re thinking: It’s like a shopper has died and gone to heaven.
And it’s true. To complement the location, the Radisson Blu will provide a shopping concierge, personal shoppers, bag pick-up services, and access to the mall's 500 specialty shops. As of now, the hotel does not have any “shopping packages” that would get guests store discounts, but we suspect that will change – and hope that it will.
Apparently, the lobby at Radisson Blu Oslo can be a dangerous place. The Daily Mail reports that King Otumfo Osei Tutu II, who was visiting the Norwegian capital for a conference, had a suitcase full of crown jewels stolen from right under his nose in the lobby of the hotel, where rooms start at around $279/night.
Not too much else is known, save for the obvious fact the 62-year-old Ghanian king is pissed.
Though if it's any consolation, ex-Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell had, like, the exact same thing happen to him at a Marriott. And let's not forget the £1 million emerald ring that went "missing" from a Four Seasons bathroom.

We feel we should preface this post with a big 'but...'
Yes, it's true that Beyonce will be the official act for the Super Bowl halftime show this February. Yes, it will probably be a better show than whatever weird Egyptian thing Madonna did last year. And yes, even you, who's left planning 'til the very last minute, can find a way to see Beyonce perform and have a place to stay.
But (we told you it was coming!) don't expect to find a hotel in New Orleans proper, as, from what we can tell, they're all pretty much sold out. A quick look online shows that not only are our usual NOLA faves fully booked, even the crumby ones on the outskirts of town are unavailable too.
