Yesterday we told you all about the Diva Demands that some of the world’s best-known female celebrities make when they stay at their hotels of choice. Today we thought we’d share the requests some of their male counterparts make. Spoiler alert! Turns out the boys are just as prissy as the girls, but we bet you already guessed that from your hours and hours of watching Gossip Girl.

Prince Plays Top-Secret Show for Rich People at the Gansevoort

On Friday, Prince played a top-secret show in the rooftop loft of the Hotel Gansevoort. According to Gothamist, tickets hovered around $1000, and the four-hour (two show) rich-people-only soiree featured Prince singin' the hits.

Plus, we hear he tweaked the lyrics to "1999" to reflect the current economic crisis. Oh, that jokester. Maybe instead of "two thousand zero zero party over oops out of time" it was "my bank account's at zero hey buddy do you have a dime?" Har har.

We were gonna take a stab at the audience members who forked over so much cash to see a concert (Dave Chappelle, Anderson Cooper, Dennis Rodman, and Spike Lee among them), but then we heard the show was benefiting his Love 4 One Another charity and we sort of felt bad.

Prince's First Concert at Hollywood Roosevelt Doesn't Include You and Your Friends

While we skulked around Hollywood Boulevard just as Prince's first show at the Hollywood Roosevelt was about to start, the LA Times was inside, walking the purple carpet amongst "200 beautiful people" and sitting three feet away from Prince as he jammed throughout the night. And it was a long night.

The paper reports that Prince didn't show up for the later, more intimate jazz session until 4am. But despite some sound problems (the LA Times blames that on the hotel's Blossom Room which was "expected in a room that's also been used for bar mitzvahs"), the night went off without a hitch.

With the announcement of Prince's intimate concerts at the Hollywood Roosevelt yesterday, we are sure the email hotline they released (3121HRH@ThompsonHotels.com) has been burning up with ticket requests.

A good Friend of HotelChatter, who is a bit naive in thinking that she will actually be able to acquire these coveted tickets without any sort of celebrity attachment, emailed her request for Prince tickets yesterday. We're live on the scene with her story.

UPDATE: Since we wrote this story at around 5:45am PST, we got the dates wrong. Prince starts this weekend, the 23rd and 24th. He will have three more shows next weekend as well, June 28-30.

The time has come. Prince will indeed be performing at the Hollywood Roosevelt, starting June 28.

Called "Prince Intimate Shows", the concert will only allow 200-people in for a glimpse at Prince, along with dinner and a jazz session. As we predicted last week, ticket prices are combo's of Prince's favorite numbers--with standing-room-only tix going for $312.10 and the ones with actual seats, and we presume dinner, are selling for $3,121 for two people.

Prince will do two shows at the hotel this weekend and three more concerts the following weekend. After that he goes off to Europe for some other scheduled concerts. So as a Thompson insider says, "It's kind of a big deal."

Email 3121HRH@ThompsonHotels.com to book the show.

UPDATE: Prince has finalized his contracts for at least five concerts, starting on June 23. The full scoop is here.

We got a bit excited, as did seemingly everyone in the music and celeb blogosphere, that Prince would be starting up a seven-week gig of Friday night shows at the infamous Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Last we heard, the contracts were in the process of being finalized and the first show date was set for this Friday, June 15.

Yet a reliable HotelChatter tipster informed us that Prince will not be singing/cooking/playing jazz/shooting hoops with guests this Friday. Our source maintains that nothing is official in regards to Prince playing at the hotel, but everyone involved is optimistic.

Furthermore, the above photo of a marquee touting that "the Revolution was just around the corner" was actually taken over a year ago when Prince performed at the hotel during Amanda Scheer-Demme's reign--remember her?

None of this means Prince, won't do a series of shows at the Roosevelt Hotel, we still think he will, or are at least still extremely hopeful he will, however, don't get in line this Friday--there will be no show.

Meanwhile, LAist has speculated that ticket prices will contain Prince's favorite numbers 3121, like $3,121 for one ticket. We're hoping he picks the wallet-friendly price of $31.21 instead.

Prince To Set Up Shop at the Hollywood Roosevelt

The Hollywood Roosevelt is apparently turning into a Vegas casino hotel minus the casino but now with a live musical act.

The LA Times is reporting that Prince (who just finished a concert series at the Rio in Vegas) will begin a seven-week residency at the hotel starting sometime in mid-June.

On seven Friday nights starting June 15, the Roosevelt will close off its lobby at 9 p.m. Then, at 11:30 in the Blossom Room in front of 250 seated guests and an undetermined number of standing-room-only patrons, Prince (joined each week by special guests) will give a two-hour performance.

At 2 a.m., Prince's private chef will take over the kitchen of the Roosevelt's Dakota restaurant, which will morph into an after-hours dinner club. As part of a jazz ensemble, Prince will entertain diners until 4 a.m.

We wonder...will he then play basketball with guests after that?

The contracts are supposedly being finalized this week and tickets will also be available this week. But the Hollywood Roosevelt hasn't been singled out here. Prince will do a similar concert series in the Hamptons later this summer and in London. But you can expect Prince and his band to be shacking up at the hotel all summer long.
